The game itself is free. Its the character's you have to pay for.

Achievements were just listed. Looks like it's 1000g for the main game AND ANOTHER 1000g for 'killer instinct classic' which would be the original game if you purchase the whole package. Nice.

Play 2000 matches with each character = 12,000 matches. The original Killer Instinct achievements look pretty easy by comparison. 40g for each character to beat eyedol, etc

This game is fun as hell, everyone needs to download it for free. With it only taking it 3.6 gigs, & all the expansions, the roster could end up being bigger than most fighting games, if they keep adding a new character every 3 months, is the current "season 1" plan. Solid foundation of a great fighting game.

Yeah there will be. For now playing "survival" is almost the same- an endless stream of CPU opponents, you get achievements for beating 1 person, & 10 people in survival, per character.

Yeah ive done it with two characters so far. Also got 80 fighting titles with the same characters as well.

Cool. I'm so glad this game turned out well. Double Helix had a shitty past, & they pitched Killer Instinct to Microsoft, & Microsoft saw their passion, & said "sure, let's see what you can do". They took that ball & ran with it. I was skeptical too: 6 characters, DLC day-one. But these developers put themselves on the map with this game. I hope everyone who poured their hearts & souls into it get a big bonus. 24hrs into launch, they said 7.2 million combos were recorded. Always happy with a David v Goliath story- and time will tell, but with all the content updates, they may have beaten Rare at their own game. This is honestly the first "season pass" I've ever bought- premiere edition? Sold.

Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Orchid, Sadira-- Spinal and Fulgore released by the summer. That ends "season 1". They already confirmed they'll be more seasons of characters, hence why they are calling it "seasons". Let's just say 8 characters a year, like this one- x8 or so years of Xbox One lifecycle. The game is just fun. Unlike free-to-play MMOs, the paywall is only $20, to get pretty much everything (all 8 characters). I don't regret spending the $40 to get Killer Instinct (original) Arcade, & the extra accessories- but anyone on a budget, $20 gets you full-in, until summer 2014.

Such an addictive game, brings back alot of memories.. I've managed a 72 hit, double ultra combo. Best i've done.
