Killer Instinct thread

6 Fighters. $20. Then you get 2 more around March 2014. In what they're calling "season 1", with plans to release 8 more characters in season 2, by the end of 2014.
Confirmed fighters are:
- Jago
- Sabrewulf
- Glacius
- Thunder
And now this all-new female character:

Which only leaves 1 more reveal. Personally I plan to pick this up, but double helix has a lot to prove. I think they could have gotten around the whole (6 characters? 6 characters!) hate, if they allowed a Soul Caliber-style "create a fighter" using assets from the six main skins. You can mix and match moves among the six. Overall, though, I hope this game does well.

6 fighters seems to be a little on the low side, seems like it's just asking for people cheesing moves online and not much variety at all.

I would be very surprised if the 6th character isn't Fulgore.
I'd also bet that Orchid, TJ Combo and Cinder are going to be among the first releases.
I agree with people that that mysterious 5th female character might be a Kim Wu redesign. Personally, I'd rather they brought back Maya.
Their whole releasing schedule for this game is really weird, though. And it's going to be annoying for the first 6 months or so because online randoms are going to be 90% Jagos.
I want this game to do well, and I want it to play well. I'm going to try out free Jago and if it feels decent, go ahead and buy everything else. If it does turn out to be good, I hope there will just be some package available upfront that automatically adds stuff as it's released.
And yeah I definitely agree that it would be nice to be able to make a custom fighter by mixing and matching assets, if not a full-fledged character creator (which I don't expect from a fighting game launch title anyway).

for $20 you get the 8 characters
for $40 you get the characters, extra costumes, original killer instinct abd something else.

There's a quote from the developer that was leaked- about "etc etc ... a dinosaur, a skeleton.. etc" so I think it's a fair bet, that Riptor & Spinal will be back.

Good. I feel like the entire original cast was pretty great and they should all be back.
I don't know about some of the ones from 2, but I feel pretty sure that eventually all the originals will make it in to the new game.
Even though I hate Cinder, he needs to be in just cause he's such a classic SOB, And if B Orchid doesn't show up eventually I will use the Xbone's Kinect to take HD photos of my genitals and send them to the developers every day until she's in.

I have a feeling the last character is going to new as well. We'll see. I'd prefer another female, but with only 6 fighters it'll probably be male, robot, or skeleton...

I have a difficult time getting excited over the franchise regulars "returning". That's like MK coming out and announcing "Scorpion will be in the next game".
