thought i would post my opinions on the game so far...
before getting too drunk LOL :p

i've been totally pumped about this game for quite some time.
never played FO1 or 2.
just got it yesterday (early BD present from my wife) and have clocked 5-6 hours.

so far... i gotta' say i'm dissapointed.
it's a great game, and i'm having fun with it, but i have to compare it with oblivion. it has it's differences, and yet it's SO similar.
first of all, i'm digging the story. GRANTED, i haven't been following it.
(SAD FACE LOL)

(SPOILERS)

i left the vault, found megaton, got bored. someone mentioned rivet city, so i thought i'd travel ALL the way there on foot instead of following the story. did it, and discovered crap about the MQ i wasn't ready for.
my fault, really, but in ALL the time i've spent playing this game, i've seen nothing but grey colored buildings and skies, nothing but useless items and lame enemies.

i AM playing on easy, but i'm not complaining about the difficulty or anything. and i know the setting is supposed to be dark and whatever. i'm not stupid. it just seems a little too repetitive.

in my opinion... i think this game would have been much better without guns, lol. the VATS system is interesting, and it requires a little skill, but otherwise, the weapon inventory/ammo inventory is a little sloppy. not to mention how hard it is to see your pip-boy screen even on a large TV.

(END SPOILERZ LOLZ)

i dunno. like i said, i'm enjoying it, but i have to make some comparisons. when i first played oblivion, i was in total AWE. this game hasn't done it for me. not yet anyway, and i've covered most of the SE map.

I really like this game, but once again, I just seem to always skip all the dialogue reading and get to the "new quest" text I need to move on. The same thing happened to me in Oblivion. The game is so damn big and long, and I don't have the time to read through everything and follow the story.

There are way too many games that I own now that I need to finish, so this is one that I have to actually play in little increments, but when I do, I am always delighted in what happens next. The gore and explicit choice of words by some NPC's just absolutely crack me up, so it is nice coming from stuff like Little Big Planet and anything Wii related.

I'm loving this game. I am playing it on normal difficulty and my points are skewed towards intelligence/science so it's providing plenty of challenge for me.

yeah, even playing on easy the game can be challenging. and i really like that. and about the pip-boy, i might try changing the colors. i'm still using green and it's hard for me to see, at least. i'm not playing on an HD though, i'm playing on a really old big TV. one of those floor units LOL! (360 games still look badass on it)

and yeah, san, i agree about the dialogue. NPCs say some really hilarious things in this game, but more often than not, like oblivion, i end up skipping most of it. they just way too much to say, lol. when i finally do actually try and focus on the story i'll try a little harder to pay attention.

as for my points, nemesis, so far i'm mostly focusing on small guns, sneak and lockpicking. and i think my highest specialties are strength and luck or something. i do want to raise my intelligence though, for the additional skill points.

i really am liking this game, but i think oblivion spoiled me a little, lol.
it just worked a little better in every way, in my opinion.

yeah, the 3rd person does suck...
i also hate that my pipboy's light automatically turns off all the time.
(through every door? not sure, but it's frequent) i mean what the hell?

and that's good stuff, livewire. great deal!
my wife bought mine new for 60, but it came with a sticker on it saying 19.99 for 2 trade-ins. i felt so ripped lol! it's all good though. game's worth the 60.

i don't like 3rd in most games, generally. it works for dead space and GTA and stuff but i prefer 1st. even in oblivion i never used 3rd, and my khajiit looked like a badass.
