okay, after clocking 10 or so hours into the game, i'm really starting to love it more and more. i took techsmith's advice and changed my pip-boy to white, and that does seem easier to read.

i finally got my explosive skill (i think) high enough to disarm the bomb in megaton, and got my house with the robot butler. truly badass! i'm currently doing the survival book missions for the chick in the item shop, and that's pretty fun. i did some traveling north and found these 3 large satellite towers. made it to the top and found a little homemade "statue" with mini nukes for shoulder pads or something, hahaha. pretty cool.
this game actually reminds me more of morrowind than oblivion.
mostly due to the setting, probably, but it's not a bad thing.

finding all 20 of these will unlock the achievements.

1.) Vault 101 - On your Dad's desk.
2.) Rivet City - Inside the Science Lab, on Dr. Li's desk.
3.) Evergreen Mills - Market Bazaar, it's on a shelf behind the Raider trader.
4.) Vault 106 - In the living quarters on the second level, it's sitting on a table in the middle of the room.
5.) Yao Guai Tunnels - In the Den on the right side. It's on top of a metal box near a small pond.
6.) Arefu - Inside the Sheriff's house.
7.) The Republic of Dave - Inside the museum, on the bookshelf to the right
8.) Bethesda Ruins - East Bethseda building, top floor near the door that leads to the bridge.
9.) Megaton - Inside Sheriff Simms house.
10.) Dunwich Building - Virulent Underchambers, right next to the exit on the floor.
11.) Vault 108 - Inside the cloning lab.
12.) Fort Constantine - C.O. House - In the basement, the head is inside a safe in the wall.
13.) Greener Pastures Disposal - A small office, it's highly radiated.
14.) Raven Rock - Get this one during the quest as you cannot go back there.
15.) National Guard Depot - Inside the Armory on a shelf.
16.) Arlington National Cemetery - It's in the house located in the northern part of the cemetery. The bobblehead is in the basement.

*Note picking up these bobbleheads is not considered stealing and will not lower your Karma. Even the ones in private residences.
