Off Topic, Can skip if you want.
I would agree with you to an extent. Alienware systems brand new, are totally not worth it, they are expensive and not worth the pretty penny to pay for the systems, when you can piece a real crazy powerhouse together on your own for a fraction of the cost.
I know I paid a bit more than 500 but that's because I had to get warranty. I also wanted a new HD widescreen monitor, and I wanted an external wireless receiver instead of the internal junk that runs off the motherboard (better signal in my opinion with an external). So I financed close to around 1200 bucks. But I came away from the deal pretty happy as I new brand new, Dell woulda ripped off around 3k for it.
I found the deal on Dells Outlet portion of their site, and couldn't resist the low cost for a Gaming computer, but I also knew it would serve me extremely well for photo editing for my photography hobby. I also didn't have the means to build one, as I am just not into doing that anymore. So it made sense to me.
My Alienware, when I bought it over a year ago, had more than enough power for running everyday games at that time, and I knew I had the potential to upgrade whenever I wanted to, as it really is a good case with a strong power supply. It also replaced my slim pc i used for years that literally imploded, lol.
Here is what it has:
Alienware Aurora (Light Up Case-Customizable)
Intel i7-2600@3.5GHz
16GB of Ram - Want More
Internal Water Cooling
Bluetooth
Netgear External Wireless-N Receiver
1TB Internal Hard Drive
1.5TB External Hard Drive
NVidia GeForce GTX 560Ti (1.5gb GDDR5) - Want to Upgrade to NVidia GTX 780 when it drops in price
Bluray Player/DVD Burner
2 USB 3.0
Bunch of Regular USB 2.0
Colored Backlit Keyboard
Bunch of Memory Card Slot Readers in the front
Running Dual Monitor Setup (One Full HD and the other Analog so I can compare photo edits)
I feel I got a pretty good system at that time. Compared to today's hardware, I know my system is aged, but it stands on its own very well and runs Adobe Creative Suite extremely quickly without ANY hiccups.
The only difference between Circus and My Alienwares, are that he is running a Dual Graphics Card Setup. Two Radeon Cards, (im unsure what they are) and he only has a standard dvd burner and no bluray.
So if you want a decent powerhouse and wanna play todays pc games, photo/video editing, and don't want to build your own system and want a warranty, Dell Outlet has pretty decent deals.
You gotta check daily to find the right combo system for you, but sometimes you will find some coupon codes, and deals just right for you. Sometimes he XPS 8500 Systems are built better and way cheaper than the Alienwares on Outlet.

Well PS4 just killed Microsoft. They support used games, No online requirements, and you don't need to sign in every 24 hours. Everyone was standing up clapping and screaming.

No I meant xiv- which is only for ps4 and PC.
Also-
Square Enix also announced on Monday that Final Fantasy XIV will receive a console exclusive release on both PS3 and PS4.
No contest anymore.
