Hahahaha hell yes I do! I enjoy old threads more than new sometimes. :3
I like the Evol and Raine thread- speaking of foreshadowing lololol.
But yeah- i read through old threads when i joined and I have a pretty good memory so it's rare I can't pull something up if you're looking for anything in particular. The exception would be the few months after Raine died and then the months between Melissa Evol disappearing and the triumphant appearance of the secretive, super attractive Kat.
As far as site traffic goes, the other staff can tell you that this is a big issue with me. While so much could be restructured on the site to help and it's out of our hands, my biggest suggestion is just to post post post! When I first joined I made an intro thread and forgot about the site for 2 weeks. When I came back my intro thread was still front and center (the site was set up differently, so there wasn't a front page, but it wasn't buried). It was a slow site. I posted things that took days to get replies. So I just kept at it. When Evol and kidd joined, then taco, there were a ton of people posting as much as me, so there became a lot of back and forth, and a ton more traffic. In a few months, we added up to a quarter of the posts on the site. And I'm not going to lie, lots of people didn't like it, and the flaming drove up page views lol. Over the years, the site ebbs and flows, but if you see something from hours ago, and it's not your post, why not post? That person may be waiting for a reply and conversation could be sparked!
So many people use xba as a monologue- which is fine, but if you want frequent posts, you've gotta come in and do your part to make it a dialogue. on top of that we definitely need fresh meat and the release of xb1 is a good opportunity to get new members so don't forget to spread the word. I'm thinking a summer tourney is in order as well, so if anyone has ideerrs, pm me and we can get our gears going about that.

Why? The original reason most people joined the site is the leaderboards and they're still here.
The reason so many have stayed over the years is still here- community.
We still discuss 1 games, have achievement discussions, etc. The only thing missing is that it doesn't show on our gamercards and that's because we get our info from Xbl and they still don't have xb1 games on gamercards. The fault with that lies squarely on ms' shoulders- they rolled out the 1 before they were prepared to integrate it. Same as not being able to send voice messages on the 1. I don't think there's anything Jackson could do at this point.
Does the site need an overhaul? Sure. The staff needs cleaning and reorganizing and so on. Reviews could be more frequent. Idk. But none of these are pressing as long as we have 10 people posting intermittently throughout the day. Post post post and participate in community stuff and things will snowball from there. But don't bury the site because it's not heading in the direction you want it to on your schedule... Not yet anyway.

I realize that no one cares or is even mildly interested in my input and obviously I can't speak for anyone except myself but the reason I never post is because several times I have in the past only to be met with nothing but negativity. Always some know-it-all striving to be clever, funny, or sarcastic just ripping on whatever idea or thought that I posted. I didn't wanna come across as a hyper-sensitive crybaby about it so I just stopped posting. Maybe some others feel the same, I don't know. That's just my two cents. I still enjoy the site a great deal though, you guys are hilarious and I've met a few really cool people so . . . Yeah that's all.

This started off as a nice thread until Snapple brought in the whine, we should have a flame wars thread.

@Jason - don't stress it, even when I first joined it was like that. And I'm the coming years there were a couple times it happened as welll, mostly when it came to a sensitive issue. People may get a little too into a discussion, but they are good people 95%. Hell I went off on some tyrades before, altho I don't think I ever got to the point of banning, but did see some thread closures.
@Snapple - if memory serves we never really had a loathe group base of frequent posters. I would remember seeing several hundred people logged on and roughly 40-60 people posting out of several hundred. And even then the majority of those posting members boiled down to
About 15-20 of us. Which also ensued multiple flame threads or "thread jacking", while people complained about that idk.
Now as far as the site moderation, I have not been nearly as active to responds to this without some sort bias to the 2007-2011 glory days.
As far back as I remember, we never immediately had articles written that regularly since this was suppose to simply be a community forum based on simply a love of gaming. Dating back to the xbox ohio days, if memory serves.
And I'm not siding with Raine, hell most of the people posting here have been here since roughly 2007-2009. These it's just harder for web based communities, the public has so many more options now than before, and with so many people running to have their own personal blogs or create a YouTube channel, there just isn't the same quality of demand for gaming forums. Now I don't have exact statistical numbers for site traffic, but that it has seemed like to me
@commander - u don't remember the threads we use to have specifically for that? Didn't they crash and burn fairly quickly? And this is still a good thread, I'm seeing familiar faces. And they are discussing things pertaining to this website as well as talking about the things they believe need improvement and are lacking.
