i loved fight club and choke (movies)
i thought the fight club movie was better than the book, to be honest.
started reading choke, but never finished it.
the film was awesome.
i'll have to look into survivor.
never got into the dark tower series, but i love pretty much every SK book i read.

I prefer Hardcover over paperbacks
i said ink! LOL that's words.... kinda.
and yes, hardcover RULES.
the halfprice bookstores here in PA offer stephen king hardbacks for basically nothing. i don't own many of them though, because i'm a total moron.

king is so much better than koontz in my opinion.
he takes longer to explain things, but he creeps me out more.

he does, most def. especially with "it" and "the stand"
i swear... every freaking chapter is about one character, lol.
koontz can be the same way though. twilight eyes is VERY descriptive, yet he doesn't go overboard like king. and like i've said, koontz's "phantoms" is still the freakiest novel i've ever read.

I'd have to agree somewhat in regards to Fight Club because I saw the film years before I read the book and it was such a mind bender for me the first I saw it. I still liked the the book immensely, even knowing how it ends.
Survivor is great. It's written in first person narrative buy the lone survivor of a religous cult that commits mass suicide. He's narrating his story from the cockpit of a 737 he highjacks and sets on a crash course into the Australian Outback. There's no spoiler there if your worried. You get that much from reading the dust jacket or back cover of the paperback. The cool thing is the page numbers go in reverse, counting down until the plane runs out of fuel.

see, koontz kinda did the same thing with "odd thomas"
it was a GREAT novel, but he kinda went into the weird zone lol.
not exactly time travel, but uh... yeah lol.
it's totally worth checking out.

I think King get too wordy lol
If you think King is wordy than you probably would get annoyed with Robert Jordan, he puts so much emphasis on describing everything down to what the characters are wearing. I can get past it cause the story is so compelling and you fall in love with the characters. Mat is my favorite of the three main guys.
