^ I notice you're from Wisconsin. Isn't WI the best state in the Union for independent breweries? That being said, I live two blocks from a cool little bar that serves only less-than-usual beers on tap, & I like Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. Check it out if you can find it:

Wittekerke is a good summer beer IMO tastes like blue moon only better.
Duvel is a pale ale, its expensive but sooo worth it, not to mention its 8.5%
I found my tastes going more towards belgian beer in the end.
Red Stripe/Bohemias/Carta Blancas are also some worthwhile beers to try out. Unfortunately they aren't that popular and under appreciated out here in So Cal, tecate/bud light/corona/budweiser rule everything at stores/bars/restaurants :<
