i would rather enjoy the 7.1 audio as opposed to 5.1. also, the way the wireless works is a ton better on the x41s. huge difference in my opinion.

Oh I know the x3's wont allow the chat pad and headphones at the same time, I simply bought them totgether because it was only 100$ and all the other ones were going for roughly 80 give or take a couple bucks, so I figured the extra 20 for a controller and chat pad was well worth it

can u rally tell the difference between 7.1 and 5.1 when the speakers are that close to ur ears? i was just wondering bc since best buy is fading out the x4's i was going to use my warranty to get the x41's in their place since my warranty covers 200 bucks.
i jut dont see how u could tell the difference since there really isnt much of a difference to begin with. plus no game out right now supports 7.1 that i kno of

Yeah the X4's go for $130-150 new depending on where you buy, refurb is cheaper. I would probably go with the X41's for their USB power sourcing and their reduced hiss, but then again I'm the type of mook that pays $200 for headphones and yet won't buy a brand-new game that doesn't have the words "Guitar" or "Hero" in it (although if it's rated M for Mature and has nudity, I'll definitely consider it).
I think it comes down to one of those situations where "if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it." Either you need really good headphones because you have no good way to play with speakers and/or HAVE to be quiet all the time, or else you have speakers and just want headphones for once in awhile quiet play. If that's the case, grab some $50 set. These $150-200 are for us n00bs that ONLY have headphones as a sound solution and thus we're willing to pay for expensive shit like wireless, 5.1/7.1, etc.

Just ordered a refurb pair of X4's off of turtlebeach.com
Figured it was better to go with a refurb pair straight off their site so I can have the 1 year warranty that comes with it without having to hassle with going through another site if I purchase elsewhere since they don't honor that 1 year warranty unless it is from certain merchants.

I just looked at turtlebeach.com at the x41s and I didn't see anything about the headset being powered by USB. It shows power from batteries. Can u give me a link of the USB power? If that's true it's a definite buy. I hate batteries.
If the headset was usb powered it wouldn't be a wireless headset...
If you want the headset powered by USB go with the X1's, they are much cheaper since they are wired, you just lose out on the Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 and just get stereo sound.
