Jerry O'Flaherty set to direct the film based on the 80s cartoon.
Thunder... Thunder... Thundercats hooooo! Using the eye of Thundera, we've discovered that Gears of War art director Jerry O'Flaherty is set to direct the Thundercats CGI movie.
Although O'Flaherty has previously worked on videogames, including Unreal Tournament 3 and Command & Conquer, Variety is reporting that he's ready to make the jump into films and has been considering the change for some time.
"It feels like a natural thing for me to step into," he said. "Games have come so far now. The last four years of my life have been about bringing the energy of filmmaking into the videogame experience."
O'Flaherty will now start working on the Thundercats script, alongside Paul Sopocy.
