imo, GH:On Tour will truly suck. its on the DS, which although getting Nintendo some money and only them for that game, looks truly hard as fork lo;

Man I just love the new music game craze. Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic--ever since I got Guitar Hero 2 for my 360, I have been gonzo over all of it. Few games I'll actually buy brand-new.
I enjoy all the GHs, I enjoy Rock Band, I will buy GH:4/WT/wtf AND RB2 and I will at least rent Konami's dumb thing if one of my fake drum sets will work with it.

I could never understand why people could get such enjoyment out of doing things like playing a really hard NES game over and over until they could run sections or the entire game flawlessly, and then I started playing GH3 and the zen of precision became clear.

I think what it will come down to which "platform" has better community support and the intuitive..est music studio.

Both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour say they will let you make your own songs sans vocals, have uber customization options in regards to your band & avatar, all master recordings, online & offline co-op, etc etc. I mean they pretty much have the same stuff, so it will come down to whoever does it "better", ie which one the stupid community gets behind.

And by stupid community I just mean all of us who pay money for the games and enjoy wheedly-wooing our fake instruments to destroy the colored note menace

GH:on tour is for the ds..and its ONLY guitar...i beleive youre thinking of GH4.

and i found out, for GH4, supposedly they wont let you do vocals. i think the world would be pretty ticked if that was true.

Guitar Hero: On Tour = Nintendo DS game

Guitar Hero World Tour = new name of the project formerly entitled Guitar Hero IV

And yes, that is what I meant by "sans vocals," as in, "without vocals". Something was mentioned about adding a keyboard melody line to the vocal spot for emulation purposes?
Like whatever notes the singer was aiming for, the little key line would play out like it was being sung. Thus enabling karaoke, perhaps? It could end up being a really awesome feature or just something most people ignore when creating their own stuff.
And then there's the velocity-sensitive touch pad guitar for tweaking held notes and such...

Im a musical game fanboy, i play both. I personally prefer GH2 gameplay but RB songs are great, im looking forward to getting both (hoping to have the money)

i just like backward compatiblity cus i am using my GHII & III gtars and my xbox headset for a mike and we had to buy drums so i don't feel like spending $ on expensive instruments that take up alot of room and i have to with world tour cus their drums have 6 notes so theirs gunna be no way to cross RB & GH drums so i mite skip GH WT
