However, this weekend, I had some roadblocks along the way in getting in enough play time that would make me feel comfortable enough to do the actual review. Work is the obvious thing that blocked me out, but there were two distinct events that really sucked up my time.
Roadblock #1: Michigan losing to Appalachian State.
Okay, so I may not stop laughing about this until Thursday or Friday. While I didn\'t really care about watching Ohio State beat up on Youngstown State, I did manage to catch it on the radio. When I heard the update from Ann Arbor that said it was 28-14 ASU, that\'s when I headed upstairs and found a live feed for that game on the computer.
Eventually, I headed to work and caught the hilarious final five minutes of the game which I\'m sure made Michigan fans want to jump off the nearest cliff without a parachute on. For people like me who couldn\'t care less for That Team Up North, I took great pleasure in watching those highlights....again, and again, and again.
Roadblock #2: Metroid Prime 3
Yes, I know that this is an Xbox 360 forum. However, I partake in other systems as well. My entertainment set-up in my living room consists of my 360, Wii, PS2, SNES, and NES. My collection overall is reaching a fairly large number, especially with rare games from the old school days.
Last Tuesday, Metroid Prime 3 came out for the Wii. This is one of those games that is an absolute must-buy for me. I was a little sketchy about what the controls would be like for the Wii-mote and Nunchuk, but that was put to rest within the first 15 minutes of playing.
Simply put, the game is ****ing amazing. My roommate and I have put in well over 30 hours of playing already, and it\'s hard to pull away from it. I\'m managing to find some time to get my Madden playing in, and eventually, my sights will turn to Bioshock, which I should finally crack open on Wednesday.
So, in short, expect reviews of APF2k8, Madden 08, and Bioshock within the next two weeks......if I can pull away from Metroid Prime 3.
