I can't stand this movie....Wes Anderson tends to make all his films seem overly indie or hipster, which just doesn't work. The only upside to this was seeing the 13 minute pre-film Hotel Chevalier with Natalie Portman...and believe me it wasn't because the acting was good.

it was just like napolean dynomite but it wasn't funny. i really don't get it.
i laughed once or twice but that was it.

Agree on all counts! Neither this nor Planet Terror were the greatest movies ever, but boy was it fun watching them both on one ticket as Grindhouse. One of my favourite movie-going experiences ever. I even have a Grindhouse sticker on my Xbox console.

Couldn't agree more. One of the funnest movie going experiences I've ever had. I liked Death Proof a lot more than Planet Terror but I think the fake trailers were the best part. Machete would've made a helluva lot better flick than the real ones. What was the other fake trailer? Wasn't it something like nazi werewolves or something?
