Repo: The Genetic Opera
This is not your parent's musical. The sets look amazing, the story is good. so right there, you're at 3/5. then the bad acting, and bad singing bring it down to 1/5. but then watching paris hilton's face literally fall off..... that's gonna bring it back up to 2/5.
nothing spectacular, but worth a watch, just once (yes AJ, even for you)
I actually felt this was a very well done movie. Overall acting/singing wise everyone was great (except Hilton), it's a much better movie than Repo Men.
Repo Men was just a rip off of Terry Gilliam's Brazil.

Eh, I don't know about that. I just read the description of Brazil on Wiki and while it shares some similarities with Repo Men RM is still closer to Repo: TGO as it deals with the same ideas just with a different name for the company that does the reposessions.
Trust me. It's a rip off. I There's no description on the internet that's gonna do Brazil justice but if you've watched them both you'd agree. Brazil is a fucking wacky picture but worth a watch. Terry Gilliam at his finest. Repo Men is the exact same story just with a different time and location and replaces the bureaucratic government monster with a money hungry pharmaceutical company. Both center around an employee of the evil company/gov't who grows despondent with their work and come across the young female love interest that they feel responsible for and try to save by taking on the company/gov't. Don't click the spoiler if you wanna find out for yourself but the kicker is:
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerThey both share the exact same tragic twist of an ending.
I wouldn't know shit about Repo TGO. I'd never watch any POS with Paris Hilton.

It's not a reboot. It's just a prequel to the original film Heston film.

Technically it is a reboot because it discontinues the original Planet of the Apes franchise storyline. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th sequels to the 1968 Planet of the Apes movies had a Caesar that was born from Cornelius and Zira (1968 movie), and he led the primate rising. Secondly a space plague wiped out all modern day pets (cats, dogs) allowing primates to take their places, and then to develop into a significant rival faction. As opposed to the genetic manipulation that was shown in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. There are several other significant differences, but I just wanted to point out a few.
Regardless of how you look at where the movie fits in.....it is still a very well made movie.

I for one didin't like it. 5/10. I prefered the Mark Wahlberg version. At least then I got to see Estella Warren running around in a pelt.

I have to disagree with that booty rating. This version was done very well and it never strayed and lead to boring side stories. This movie was tons better than the previous reboot, and the new leading lady was much more attractive than the blonde hawtness of the last movie...hell I preferred the female ape over her, lol.
I highly recommend Rise of the Planet of the Apes. 9 out 10
