Scott Pilgrim vs The World - 8 1/2 out of 10
I didn't think I'd like this movie, but I really enjoyed it.

The Tourist - 3.25/5 NNR
I took my mom to see this because she wanted to, but honestly it was pretty good. It's hard not to like Johnny Depp, and Angelina Jolie is always decent. The shots of France and Italy were awesome.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - 5/5
One of my all-time favorites and definitely my favorite Stanley Kubrick film. I loved George C. Scott and Peter Sellers was such a brilliant actor. He was nominated for the best actor Oscar for his work playing three roles in this film way back before Eddie Murphy turned playing multiple roles into a joke.

Observe and Report - I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit. I don't believe it received any widespread appeal because it's not really a by-the-numbers comedy. It is a very dark comedy. 6/10
Zack and Miri Make A Porno - would have enjoyed this more had I watched it alone. Watching this with the family was just too awkward. I can't really knock the movie for that, though. 6/10
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - Hadn't really even heard about this until I read the praise from here. I decided to give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. Great acting, dialogue, and some of the references are great. 8/10
The Expendables - Good dumb fun. Pretty dumb premise, but most of these type of movies work better that way. This was above average for its genre, though. 7/10
The Messenger - Not exactly an up-lifting movie, but still a very good movie. Awesome acting all the way around, and it's a very fresh movie. 8/10
Side Note: On the topic of depressing movies, all of my top 10 are depressing. I guess that's what makes them good.

i saw your quote and felt id throw up two semi-related ones, just for shiggles
last movie i watched was Batman Begins. it gets a 9/10 in my book. really awesome movie, helps explain TDK a lil better, and it was the beginning of batman. loved the action scenes, classic batman ass-kickin goodness. loved it, but it wasnt perfect, so it doesnt get a 10

I liked Observe and Report too. I can definitely see why it didn't do well--it came out right around the same time as Paul Blart, Mall Cop and so they tried to bill it as a similar pratfall comedy when, as you said, it was actually much darker.
I have to ask, though, why the hell you would watch a movie called 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' with your family??

Tracy Morgan and Danny Glover were a riot in this movie.
Agreed!
