She's not lyin, I just finished watching it and it was a great film that was terribly marketed. They made it look like it was just going to be a small town murderfest when the actual story... is awesome!
The Crazies* - 4*/5
*the asterisk is because it was on blu-ray, so that isn't a regular 4, it's the full 4 experience
Great movie. I was worried that it would be scary, as everyone says it is, but I didn't find it scary at all. It was extremely creepy and weird, but not scary. Good acting, especially by the child.
Of course it's confusing as hell, all Kubrick movies are. Speaking of Kubrick, this makes 4 Kubrick movies I've seen, I'm working on watching them all.
8/10 stars - I liked it, it could have been better. My kids loved it.
I found the overall story to be very similar to Blade Runner. The hunter becomes the hunted and falls for the girl who he would normally be hunting. I was a little disappointed in the ending as well.
I saw this at IMAX in 3d. I really enjoyed it; the story has a lot of interesting nuances if you approach it with a quasi-religious view based on stuff from the Old Testament, Quran, Torah, Book of Enoch, etc. There wasn't a ton of action and the 3d effects were minimal so keep that in mind if you're deciding whether to see it. Awesome visuals, of course. The soundtrack/score was great.
Christina Ricci who played Justin Long's girlfriend and she dies and he thinks she isn't actually dead turns out she isn't
