Whatever you think of him you all have to deal with him. Personally McCain blew it for me when he took Palin as a running mate.

The 2 things I would like to see while Obama is in office:
1.) Pull our troops out of Iraq. You want to fix the budget stop dumping lives and Billions of dollars into a country who for the most part doesn't want us there. No more USA world police already, thats what the UN is for.

2.) Stop all needless spending, why does the government need to buy a $10,000 toilet seat when the one I get at home depot for $30 does the same thing. Put our tax dollars to good uses in our own HOME country. I know everybody was up in arms when Obama said everybody needs to help out the guy behind you, but rather than take from our pockets I'd like to see our Government use our taxs more wisely rather than throw it all on the backs of hard working Americans.

Whatever the outcome America will always move on.

Irregardless of whether or not you think we should have gone into Iraq, we are THERE. Pulling out without finishing the job absolutely wastes all the lives we have already lost over there. Are you truly saying you want that to all be in vain? Many of my friends have served multiple tours over there and in Afghanistan, and NOT ONE of them wants to leave without finishing the job. The true tragedy of these two wars will be pulling out without finishing the jobs. Our soldiers do not deserve to have that dumped on them.

I know what your saying but you kinda missing the point we are in full force over there and the "War" is over and we are just acting as a military police force. I have family in NSA as well as friends in the service, all who would probably disagree with you on your veiws on leaving in vain. Some conflicts cannot be won, just like this discussion between me and you. We could fire arguements and points at each other with no clear winner in the end. I would like to see all of our troops home safe regardless if it was in vain or not. I could list a number of operations in which american forces had pulled out of a conflict, the problem with pulling out of Iraq is becuse it will look like we lost against terrorism. I'm just saying our country's economic problem should take presidence over a country who needs to be policed because of their own internal problems.

I have personally lost friends over there, I just don't want to lose any more is that hard to understand?

He's not just going to just yank all of are troops out, that would result is chaos and he knows that. I'm not sure some of you know just how smart this guy is. The Iraqies have been stalling dealing with their problem for way to long and just soaking up all are billions of dollars. It's time to put a stop to that and get them to Heal their nation much like we need to heal on a number of isues such as race and party divisions.

Bush feed us everything that was negitive and used it to create Fear and hate. Obama is going to do the opposite and create a sence of hope and goodwill that will spread around the globe. That is what America used to stand for, that is what America Is!!!

I kind of wanted Obama, but I could really care less. In my 13-year-old Opinion, Obama was better than McCain, but they both have major problems. So I am, I guess, pleased, with this election. And Nemesis, that picture is hilarious. So true though. All the previous presidents have been rich white christian males.

The sum of all my feelings about this is indifference.

I'm very proud that we've elected the first African American president. This really shows how far our society has come in such a relatively short period of time. Also, I'm not being sarcastic when I say I'm also pleased by the way his inexperience was acknowledged and cast aside. Inexperience in politics seems like more of a virtue than a hindrance.

However, Obama is a little too far from the political center for me to support the majority of his plans.

No, its not hard to understand. Not at all. I do not want to see any of our soldiers (or anyone else for that matter) die, either. But the word I am getting from my friends (the most recent has been back about 2 months) is that the surge has worked wonders. That, combined with the fact that things are being approached differently over there now to the point that we are attacking the root of the problem. You cannot get rid of the terrorists, unless you get rid of their safe havens. More and more, the Iraqi people are shutting their doors to Al Queda, and when you combine that with the surge, I truly believe we are winning.

I do think we need a timeline, so we can get our troops out for good. I just want to see it handled right by them.

Well said. Certainly my reasons for voting against him were not because of his color. I look at their policies, and see which candidate appeals more to what I believe, no matter what color or gender they are. I simply did not agree with Obamas in this election.

technically, he's bi-racial. black dad, white mom. so....he isnt TECHNICALYL african american, hes only half..

personally i wented obama to win, so :) im pretty happy about it

and (this is what im going to start telling people) if you dont like that obama won, get over it. were a democracy, majority wins. and so if you truly have a problem w/ it, go elsewhere (note: this isnt directed at anyone here). like really, some people are so flared up (worse then lots of people can imagine) about obama winning...its irritating...

but whatever :)

btw, from what ive heard, obama wont be pulling the troops out for another 16 months

i know mccain wasn't the answer to our problems, but i feel obama is just going to ADD to them. i feel as though i might be better off not working at all since he's just gonna take and take and give to those who don't.... sad to say but i think this is going to be a very dark time for America.

taco has inside info on the war in iraq.....

It would do you well not to "assume" something and put words in other peoples mouths. I never said that, and obviously, I do not want that to happen. But for you to assume that I would want something like that is way over the fucking line, man.
