I signed up for the COD4 beta thing, and in order to actually be eligible it said i needed an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. So I broke down and used my debit card to buy one month of Gold. Now i just gotta remember to cancel when I get the reminder e-mail that the gold expires soon...

Well right now my arrangements don't allow me to get on Live every single day like I used to be able to do in the old house. =/ So really, there's no point in paying for more than I have to, other than to be eligible for certain promotions and be able to send and receive Live messages. I've never had a yearly account. I'm rather frugal with my money.
