Everytime I see...

Everytime I see... a new member join the boards and they have a high gamerscore (50k++) I'm always looking to see what state they are from and if they are from Texas. I hate gaining score everyday yet sometimes losing rank in the state leaderboards due to new members joining lol. When I joined the boards in 07 I was ranked 42 or so and dropped all the way to 142 over the years and months but I am now climbing my way back up. Sucks to be you Illinoiser's looks like a bigboy 72k jus joined

I know, I was in the 80s when I joined and now I'm like 120 somethin. 80s with a damn 4,000 gamerscore too. It would be cool if there was some way it could be on our profiles what our highest rank was.

It wouldn't really mean anything though because it would be a from a time when there were less members. Maybe I can adjust them to account for inflation?

When I first joined this site and looked at the leaderboards, I thought it was out of everyone on xbl. When I found out it was just among members of this site, it made a little more sense... Anyway, the point is, if it WAS out of all of xbl, most of us wouldn't be in the positions we're in. I just don't see a point in worrying about how many people join, I don't think this gives THAT many bragging rights. I mean- we could start a leaderboard just for frequent posters and we'd all move way up in rankings but our gamerscore and overall ranking wouldn't be that different.
It's kind of the reason that I think people who join this site just to be ranked and don't bother with any of the sites other features are tools.

True, the state rankings have no real intrinsic value... but, it's a sort of motivation to play more games and be the best waffle you can be. Over the whole of Xbox live there is no real way to see how you rank up with the world and hence no sort of motivation to climb the Score Totem Pole, except of course competing with those on your friends list.
