I haven't read the op or any other post besides the 2 above me but I was just thinking about the game(I'm playing it again right now) Jimmy is a bully and yes a bad kid but the school isnt for bad kids its a privet academy and the only school that would take him and try to reform him. He tries to stop bullying(by bullying none the less)'cause he knows its wrong and he wants it to stop. I'll read the op then edit my post

I didn't read past the first page, but this is my opinion:
{begin wall of text}
Parents have the right to let their kids play M rated games. It is their choice. The only time I have a problem with it is when the parents don't teach their kids that it may be okay to do something in a video game, but not in real life. But when parents sit and play the games with their kids, or at least watch them play games. They can explain what is right and wrong.
The main gripe I have is when parents buy a game for their kids just to shut them up. Meanwhile they have no idea what the game is. As long as it gets their kid to stop bothering them. Then when their kid does something that they learned in the game, the parents want to blame the game. This is where bad parenting comes in. But they don't want to admit it. It's much easier to blame the video game companies and makers than it is to take responsibility for their bad parenting.
When I was younger my mom let me play some mature games. But she actually did research on the games before she would get them. Plus, she would usually play them with me. I never played a game like GTA and such until I was of age and able to buy them myself.
So before you call someone a bad parent for buying a mature game for their kid you should probably get all of the facts. Just because they are buying it for their kid doesn't make them a bad parent.

Coming from a 14 year olds perspective ( spelling lol) I think Video games are fine. I'm tired of all this BS on video games and how it "makes you do bad things" It doesn't, not AT ALL
I played games like GTA when I was 9. I didn't feel the urge to kill anyone or go on a rampage. If a kid does a criminal act its not because he played Halo its because they're bad parents and don't tell the kid whats bad and what isnt.

Yeah I agree with Gregory. The one thing video games have done for me (coming from a 15 year old) is I got addicted to them for awhile.. So now after getting out of it I want to do everything and get out everyday. So thank you video games .

coming from a 23 year old's perspective video games are the devil.
i kill hookers, i slice people in half with chainsaws, and i rip open little girls searching for slugs.
just say no kids. don't be like me.

I agree, video games are harmless. But they are a small number of kids that are effected by these violent video games. Yes, its up to the parent. But in my opinion, kids are so precious, why even take the chance. Sure let your 12 year old son play L4D. But don't let very small children play these games. There minds are like sponges, they soak up all these bad images from games.
Its up to the parents on whether they let there kids play violent video games. But its also up to the parents to raise there kids the best they can. I want to look back at my kids and say I did everything I could. Not just say, fuck it, it won't hurt them.

im not (edit) with intense. i would let a kid play a violent game because i know it does no harm. the worse it might do is have him addicted? and those games can help by relaesing anger at the games and not other people

lolololol I'm sorry, but that made my day!
You know that Intense Element has been the strongest supporter AGAINST letting kids play violent games right? He has been so staunchly opposed to it that the first few pages of this thread were bordeline flaming! lol
I'm sorry that I'm laughing at you, but you should read before you post! lol
