Ha.
I only ever really got into a few anime series.....and yes they are ones that were on Cartoon Network...eesh. I did however purchase the unrated dvds. Though what we have in America unrated isn't always the same as the Japanese. Go figure.
All the Dragonball series (DB, DBZ, DBGT)
Yu Yu Hakusho
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Rurouni Kenshin.
Of course Akira. I don't think you are allowed to like anime without liking that one

I think Mini brings up a good point. One's reaction to Akira is a good Litmus test as to how they may enjoy japanimation.
When I was younger it was Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, and Akira. That was like all we ever heard about!

leave it to Setsuna to always be on top of the news xDD
i loved the Dragonball series when i was younger, i probably still do now but i'd just get angry at all the fillers and whole "it takes 5 episodes to power up and thrash talk thing", back then, i thought it was fine and didn't mind it....but now...i've experienced too much to handle stuff like that -__-
i remember when they were airing DBZ on Cartoon Network back in the day. 1 new episode per day, 5 days a week. i came home from school and sat in front of the tv to get my Cartoon Network fix lol. let's not forget the cruel way they would punish us if they couldn't dub/release new seasons on time so they force you to rewatch the ENTIRE series from episode 1 again. it was especially bad when they stop in the middle of a story arc to do this :/
ahh, the fun times!...
