Everything you just said is pretty much exactly what Fallout 3 is/was...
not really factions didn't really exist. you couldn't side with the bad guys if you wanted to. it was a linear story with few options in a albeit open world. think of GTA 4 driving cars etc, mixed with fallouts rpg system, mixed with dead rising.

Australia, England, Tokyo, Medieval era, all great ideas. Anything radically different from the last 2 or 3 GTA's added with some of RDR's high points and it'll be another great blockbuster game. Hell, it'll sell and be a platinum hit no matter what they do with it, it is GTA after all...
