I kinda hope the just do away with GTA and focus on games like Red Dead. I'd love a civil war era game. Or a midevil game styled after red dead. It would be sweet.

Durtie, my friend, you're an m-fing genius!!!!!! I love both these ideas, and I would pay GOOD MONEY ($60) for sandbox games in these eras!

Holy fuck yes! I would nut over a King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table sandbox game.

edit:
Somebody had mentioned Germany and that gave me the idea for a early Cold War espionage themed sandox game that takes place in a separated Berlin ala The Saboteur.

One can only dream right? Maybe I should send them a message over twitter and cross my fingers for 5 years, lol. How is saboteur by the way?

Other than his shitty fake Irish accent I absolutely loved it. I 1K'd it back in January. I loved how easy it was to sneak up on a nazi and snap his neck or slip a knife under one of his ribs and watch him collapse like a sack of potatoes. I had no problem blowing up every ambient freeplay target (just over 1300) cause they're all marked on your map. I loved the Sin City-like art style in the nazi controlled areas.

Australia, England, Tokyo, Medieval era, all great ideas. Anything radically different from the last 2 or 3 GTA's added with some of RDR's high points and it'll be another great blockbuster game. Hell, it'll sell and be a platinum hit no matter what they do with it, it is GTA after all...

Of course no matter what it is or where it will be, i will probably all tie in some how with the other characters. so I hate to say it cause you guys all had great Ideas for locations but Im gona have to say Its probably goning to be a remake of Vice City. After all I believe it was the most favorite GTA made, either that or san andreas, its pretty close. I just want to be able to run over some bitches in a combine again. PLEASE!!!!

Everything you just said is pretty much exactly what Fallout 3 is/was... :baffled:

not really factions didn't really exist. you couldn't side with the bad guys if you wanted to. it was a linear story with few options in a albeit open world. think of GTA 4 driving cars etc, mixed with fallouts rpg system, mixed with dead rising.

ahahhahahahahahaahahhaha

you obviously didnt play fallout the true way it was sposed to be played.

now, i will admit, if you do JUST the main quests, it is a linear story, w/ a few options...but thats why they made 348502982 side quests, which is where the fun really kicked in. cause if you did a certain quest this way, or that way, it could affect another quest/mission, or maybe even make one side quest impossible. or it could affect the rewards you got from the quest. fallout 3 was definately NOT a linear game, unless youre just retarded and did ONLY the main quest.

EXACTLY! Holy shit, if you get the completion in that game there's no way you could EVER believe it was linear. There were some side quests so far out in the map you'd NEVER find them without a guide.

What's nice about the game is that almost every side quest has an achievement. But yea, definitely not even close to linear.

oh i did get the completion. some of it was kinda annoying/boring (like the hacking one. try hacking 50 computers......w/ a 62 science. as in, cant do the hard/very hard ones. and theres a lot of hard/very hard terminals..) but that game was so non-close to linear it wasnt even funny...

and idk about you but i actually found a lot of the side quests easy to find..but thats just cause id go around the wasteland lookin at random crap, finding random crap, talkin to random people, etc etc. just causei was bored xD
