If you want to play your PS2 games, just buy and play them on a PS2. They only cost $50. Playing PS2 games on your PS3 is pointless.

This. And the new Slim Blu-raystation 3 is sexier anyway.

I can dig what you mean. Soul Calibur II looks way awesomer on 360 and it already goes with all my setup, beats digging out the old Xbrick and controllers and cables and setting up HD mode and then such as.
Still, though--backwards compatibility has become a liability at this stage of the console hardware & technology generation. It just takes too much work/money for too little results, so onward to BIGGAR AND BETTAR THINGS LIKE PLAYING WITH YOUR GLOWING PINK AND BLUE DILDOS TO SIMULATE VOLLEYBALL OH BOY

That's one more system I do not need. I'd MUCH rather play with the PS3 and the Dual Shock 3 wireless controller. Like I said I don't need 50 systems... There are only so many hook ups, the wireless controllers on the PS3 are so much better... I HATE wires... if you had my 3 dogs you would understand...
By this logic, then I should own a PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, GameCube, Xbox, and Xbox 360? Fuck all that. 3 systems. All wireless controllers... all I need.
I'm sure SOMEBODY will argue with me, they always do... But my PS2 games, thru my PS3, with HDMI, look and sound better than they ever did thru componenet cables. No I'm NOT stupid, I KNOW the resolution is NOT any higher... but they look better. I could never get the PS2 to fully fill my screen, there was always this little band around it... even with component cables and it drove me fuckin nuts. Yeah I had it set to 480p, and yeah it was set to widescreen... didn't matter. Not an issue on the PS3.
No wires... no physical memory cards... no hassles, pure gaming. Fuck the PS2. If playing PS2 games on my PS3 is pointless... you'll really love the fact that i now own more PS1 games than I ever did when I owned a PS1... and yeah, they play perfectly on the PS3... wireless and all...
Do you play any Xbox games on your 360? Or is that pointless too?
Cool story. No I dont play Xbox games on my 360. Ive moved on from previous generations. But if I want to take a trip down video game memory lane... then yes, I will pull out my Dreamcast, xbox, ps2, or n64 and play a game or two. I dont have to worry about my dogs wrecking my stuff because they dont bulldoze through my house. If you only have a 360 and want to play PS2 games that bad... then dont try to kill yourself tracking down a PS3 that has backwards compatibility for like $300, when you can just buy a PS2 for $50.

Backwards compability isn't an issue with me. Those games are best left as a good memory and time to move on with life and get into new games with better stories.
