After looking into how to get the achievements for the secret fights, I can already tell it's gonna be hell trying to fight the Classic Jade. You have to get all the way up the arcade ladder to Shang Tsung without losing a round, get a Double Flawless, then perform a fatality on the ol' sorcerer. Fun times.

Thats the only time I had to kick it down to easy as well. Though some of the fights I had to resort to using cheap tactics to win.
I did just finish the story a little bit ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it and how they had it laid out.

Okay folks. I gotta know. Out of all the characters who is your favorite? Which one was the biggest disappointment for you? What's your favorite fatality thus far?
Favorite character- tie between sub zero and scorpion

Yeah, I remember seeing that the other day. I don't know why they would put something like that in. That's pretty much just a "Lets see who doesn't have a life" achievement.

In the comments on that section, you can put it on Practice and just leave your 360 running and the time will count towards the 24 hours. The rest still sounds like a pain in the ass.

Smoke is better than I expected, and Shang Tsung I don't like as much as I used to.
I think Noob's fatality where he just pulls the opponent apart is the most brutal, fucked up fatality but I don't know that it's my favourite.
Both Cyrax and Sektor are a lot better here than I remember them in Trilogy, and man I really miss Cyber Smoke. The inclusion of Sub makes me wonder what the other ninjas would be like as cyborgs, and I hope the second set of DLC characters includes a female ninja cyborg, that would be cool. Like Cyber Jade or something.
Am already looking forward to Kenshi and Skarlet. It burns my ass seeing the roommates playing with Kratos on the PS3.
Lastly, OMFG that "master all fighters" Achievement is fucking retarded. They should have removed the 24 hour playtime requirement for each fighter at least.

So, how's everyone coming with the challenge tower? I am currently at 102 and haven't had to skip one yet. Haven't ran into any real trouble yet, though I'm sure that will change soon.
Also, I am really starting to like Noob. Though I would hate to go against him online since he has some moves that could easily be spammed.
