The unlocks for Gears of War 3 include the Cole Train, a “flaming-****ing-Lancer” as Bleszinski puts it, and more. There are also beta models you can unlock as well, starting with just Dom and Marcus skins, you can unlock Anya and Baird; and conversely, the new-look Theron guard with its black and white outfit is available for the Locust. The ultimate reward that will be unlocked in Gears of War 3 though seems to be the Gold Retro Lancer though, which Fergusson noted could require you to play 90 matches and get 100 kills to unlock this badboy. That however is not set in stone yet, but according to Fergusson, it is the “only way to get the Gold Retro.”

According to that the Snow Theron and Onyx Theron we've been hearing about are actually alternate skins for the Theron Guard.

From what I've heard it is animated flames, so im assuming that means it will be on fire, but I haven't seen it any videos yet so I can't say for sure.

- Enlist in the most explosive gaming event of the spring: the Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Beta!

- Get into the Beta by preordering Gears of War 3 through select retailers (Gamestop in the U.S.). The Beta begins April 25 and ends May 15.

- For those of you who purchased the Bulletstorm Epic Edition (on Xbox 360 only), you get early access to the Beta, beginning April 18.

- Three new multiplayer modes and four exclusive maps will be rolled out during the Beta period -- all running on dedicated servers. This is your chance to help shape the most anticipated game of 2011.

- In the Beta you can play Team Deathmatch mode on the four new maps (Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches, and Old Town); Capture the Leader and King of the Hill gameplay modes will be added later in the Beta period. Also, be sure to look out for a surprise event weekend that you won't want to miss.

- Not only will you get an early taste of the final chapter in this blockbuster trilogy, but you'll also have access to exclusive content that you can permanently unlock and carry over to your Gears of War 3 gamer profile when the retail game launches on September 20.

Complete one match by Sunday, April 24 to permanently unlock.

- Flaming Lancer
Complete one match during the week of April 25 to permanently unlock.

Complete one match during the week of May 9 to permanently unlock.

that's awesome, but a little much. flaming EVERYTHING? meh. but still no word on what other ways you'll be able to get the beta? i hope it's just like ODST and Reach, put in Gears 2 and get a download link to th beta of Gears 3.

For Bulletstorm owners, beta starts on April 18th.

For the ones who pre- order GOW3 on April 25th.

There may be other ways to access the beta but no word yet.

Beta ends on May 15th.

There will be 3 editions of the game. Standard for $59.99, Collector's for $79.99, and the Epic Edition for $149.99. No word on what's in them yet, but as soon as Gamestop knows, I will know, and so will all of you.

Well, that's Reach, but this is Gears. Gears IMO is well worth $149.99. Halo, however, isn't.
