Can you at least customize you're characters to the same extent?
color mainly. you get some faces to choose and backpacks that do different things. nothing else.
No armor options? Wtf.
it's the 1950's.

Pfft.
As long as I got my suit and tie, alien bodies gonna be on the floor tonight.
Basically:
Nothing to do with an xcom game other then the title and aliens..
No base building this is a big big NO NO imo.
No tech capturing and research, you just find them and use them in the environment. once found you can equip them.
No real looming threat, fills like no reason to continue playing, theres no real bad guy just a bunch of aliens to kill.
No character creation, just minor customization.

How would it being a third person shooter effect the fact you can't improve you're base, customize you're armor or do research for better weapons. You got do all of those things in Mass Effect derp.
@ Chainds explanation that it's the 1950's...armor has been in full force since the middle ages. Atilla the Hun should not be better protected then the average XCOM agent.

what base do you improve in mass effect
you're not even wearing armor in the game so what would you customize?

It's called the Normandy. Maybe you have heard of it.
OMG my point is they should have PUT armor in the game. -_-
M1952A (Flak vest) was used in the 1950's all the way into the Vietnam era.

Just beat the game.
I have never, EVER raged as hard as i did during the final bout. they throw endless amounts of shielded enemies at you and 2 goliaths at you. i was running around the room the entire time hitting the "return to me squad!" button, but of course my teammates thought "oh hey, let me get in the front of enemy fire. that's certainly what master wants!".
Team AI is pathetic. missions are pointless, story is nonexistant.
5/10 would not play again. Luckily Snapple bought it off me and i got some Ghost in the Shell to make me feel better. C:

1 playthrough, not even trying i got 29 of the 30-something. i wanted to make it a straight 30 but there is a secret i missed by not killing all aliens before bouncing in my hovercraft. Oh, and there is no achievement beating the game(except on impossible), the last story based achievement happens just before the final bout.
really really easy achievements.

So I started it today and its not bad, definitely see how its not worth 60 dollars., but it looks to have oretty easy achievement s.

So i'm balls deep into this now and it's very very average. I would say it's the equivalent of Mass Effect's squad system merged with Mafia 2's combat. It also borrows some squad mechanics from Ghostbusters. Oh and the main character is about as charismatic as "Cole" from La Noire. So yeah it basically borrowed idea's from all of those games and managed to still be mediocre. 6/10 so far.
