hey fuck you guize.

Ok so i'm about 4-5 hours into it, gotta say it's decent but it kills what EU was, they still have the "command your troops" but this proves to be useless at times since they usually will be gunned down before moving into position because the enemy is ever-smart and will flank your ass before you know it. "Alright guys, get your ass to the left behind that fence and take out th- WHERE THE FUCK IS THE ENEMY????" probably to the right doing my strategy i was on the fly making up. but it's ok, with a good trigger finger you can pretty much destroy anything (with a headshot).

it's also very VERY satisfying when a plan really comes together. i was pinned down by a shit ton of enemies and i ordered my troop to throw a hologram to get some pressure off then taunt the enemy into focusing on them, while i meanwhile snuck past some debris and managed to end up behind them. decimated them with the scatter laser. as your troop levels up the abilities you get certainly make up for their incompetence. my personal favorite being the mortar strike, that even works underground! :D

overall 6/10 currently.

the story is.....odd. i am slightly confused by it. the aliens are here to take earth and terraform it for themselves, they are under the influence of alcohol a computer program that commands them to do bad stuff. in fact, i captured one of these bastards and he actually agreed to help after removing the data chip thingy, and what led him to help is how my guy said this "We are the land of the free, this wouldn't be the first time we've welcomed immigrants to our doors. We can help you, now please help us. How do we stop this thing?" CHEEZY.

Yeah most of the reviews totally rip the main characters dialogue and the overall continuity issues. Like why didin't we start with alien tech in EU if they had them back then? We also seemed surprised by sectoids in mission 1 even though we have fought them before. DERP.

i really miss the extent of customization from EU. like building your Xcom base to fit your needs. like if you wanted to go hardcore into scientific enhancements or if you wanted to build special weapons for your team. that is severely lacking this time. it would've made this game 20% better to have included the research stuff from EU, instead of "oh hey, here's some alien tech on the ground! I'm going to take it and then we all have it!"
