Stargate is no more!

I just wanted to show my disappointment that SyFy has canceled Stargate Universe today, effectively killing the franchise that has continually aired on their network since 2002. They have allowed SGU's second season to finish airing but will not have a third season. Also of interest is that Eureka and Warehouse 13 will be getting new seasons next year. I feel that this announcement has come as a direct result of MGM, the owners of the franchise, filing for bankruptcy. At least I have collected most Stargate actor's autographs over the years by attending cons although I only obtained 4 SGU autographs. Any other thoughts on the subject?

I watched the first season of of SGU and I understand why it's getting cancelled. It was horrible. I'm a big fan of SG-1 and Atlantis. Those were great. Atlantis was really good and they cancelled it due to the cost of making those episodes. And then they gave us a piece of shit show called SGU built under a tight budget. Here's to hoping for some new SG-1 movies.

I spoke to Chris Judge, who plays Teal'c, recently about SG-1 movies. He said they have started writing another, so there may be one in the works soon.

I love Eureka! I don't watch stargate though.
I love Eureka too! I was originally a Stargate fan until this year. I was not overly impressed with SGU and started looking for another show to watch. At DragonCon, I meet Erica Cerra and Neil Grayston, Deputy Jo Lupo and Fargo respectively. This piqued my interest in the show, causing me to start watching it on Netflix. A week later, I had watched every episode of the first 3 seasons, and a month after that I had bought all the DVDs. I also began watching season 4 on SyFy and Hulu recently and even got Colin Ferguson's autograph at a con a few weeks ago.

I am highly disappointed is this news. I've watched every episode of all the series and I really enjoyed Universe. I'm sick of shows getting canceled. If they cancel Burn Notice, Greek, or Eureka I'm done.

I would rather watch Ghost Hunters or WWE on Syfy than those shows.

lol yeah pretty much. I don't watch much of it anyways. I just watch a few select shows. Most of my time goes to gaming.
