On a related note, I feel like I'm one of the only ones who liked 5. I know, I know, it's all I've ever known so I don't know what I'm missing, or whatever line of bs goes there. But a friend of mine got me hooked on it and we played for 18 straight hours one night beating the second half of veteran and then dominating that bitch on professional. Got the original 1k and everything.
I feel you man, I tried the original RE way back when I first got my PlayStation and I couldn't get in to it at all, but I had a lot of friends that loved the series and I enjoyed watching them play through. RE5 was the first one I really got in to, and playing it co-op made it that much better. I loved it!
I do know that 5 was very different from the series' roots, though, and RE fans want the goods delivered the way they originally did.

"Kobayashi also revealed that Resi 6 will feature the return of zombies, following the series' “infected” focus in recent years. They'll be joined by other enemies, including the fearsome “Javo,” the green-eyed monster featured in the trailer. Kobayashi said that Javo will have a “greater impact” than any of the zombies in the game."

I liked 5. I feel like I'm the only one who didn't like 4. But oh well. I'll buy every Resident Evil game forever. It's just one of those games to me. 2 RE games in 1 year pretty stoked.

I want the horror and survival element to be back. Resident Evil 5 was a good game, but I would rather have it like the previous Resident Evil's. Preferably Resident Evil 2 esq.

Whether there are good achievements or bad achievements, however one dictates what makes one either of the two, Resident Evil 6 will be a phenomenal game. For those who want the old horror feeling, it's been stated many a time that Leon's campaign will contain such elements. That means that in addition to all the new material offered, fans of the older gameplay will have something more quaint to which they can look forward. That's not to say the game will send as many shivers up your spine as some of the earlier predecessors have. However, there has definitely been an effort to create a campaign featuring horror. The trailers revealing Ada's brief campaign reveals the potential for horror as well.
Chris Redfield, on the other hand, will have a more action oriented campaign. This isn't so surprising when you consider the way Resident Evil 5 played out, and the action is evident in the Resident Evil 6 demos that have been released thus far. I don't know if the focus on action is a good thing or a bad thing; like many I prefer the horror of the original games, but RE5 wasn't terrible. However, it offers more variety to the entirety of the game (much like Jake's story will do). That being said, it's probably safe to say it's good.
This is one game that I will enjoy playing, achievements not even considered.
Nevertheless, like some of you, I have also taken a look at the achievement list.
I look forward to October 2nd. Pre-ordered.
