Resident Evil 6 Demo Live- Kinda Sorta *updated*
If you are interested in test driving Capcom's latest installment in the hugely popular Resident Evil franchise, there's a demo out today on Xbox live. Don't bother looking on the Xbox live marketplace, though. Capcom has made this demo available only to the owners of their last game, the fantastic RPG Dragon's Dogma, and the process is a tiny bit more complicated than previous demos that have been connected to games.
Owners of Dragon's Dogma have a code on the back of their game's instruction booklet. This code is for a download token and can be entered in the 'redeem code' menu. When you download the token, you need to start up Dragon's Dogma and there will be a new option on the main menu that lets you download the demo. At over 800 mb, the demo is bigger than the Skyrim DLC, and offers players a mission from each of Resident Evil 6's three separate campaigns. Each campaign features a different main character, including fan favorites Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield. The game can be single player or 2 player co-op, as every character has a partner, and it spans 3 separate continents, taking players from America to Europe to China (thankfully, no mention of Africa). Capcom is touting Resident Evil 6 as its most expansive title to date, and gives out some details about the demo, as well.
Play as Leon S. Kennedy alongside Helena Harper and explore the dark confines of the Ivy University campus and the zombies that fill its hallways. Select Chris Redfield’s mission and head to China for an intense encounter against the deadly J’avo with BSAA colleague Piers Nivans on the rooftops of Lanshiang. The third mission shifts the action to the war-torn Eastern European state of Edonia and sees Jake Muller and Sherry Berkin trying to escape the relentless pursuit of the Ustanak, one of the new B.O.W.’s being introduced in Resident Evil 6.
As if people needed an excuse to pick up Dragon's Dogma? No word for Capcom about when or even if the Demo will be available to the general public, but the full game will be in stores on October 2, 2012.
