I have yet to encounter a single bug with the game.
Well, my console did decide to not let any controller sync up to it while I was playing it and had to reset it, but that most likely is not the game though.
Anyway, I'm loving the game.

It's decent, only thing i dislike is the auto aim.
Read you can disable it after you reach level 15. I hope that applies in free roam and not just ranked matches.

Fixed. And from reading his post, I believe he was asking questions because he DOESN'T want to play it if it's just a western set GTA- he's trying to find RPG elements so he can like it...
exactly this, lol.
thank you, melissa.
i'm asking so many questions because i've heard different things about the game. i enjoyed GTA4 for awhile, but i don't want to play another game like that. not my cup of tea. on the other hand, i read that it was an open world game, and that appeals to me.
if there are no RPG elements at ALL, then i probably won't bother. thanks.
well it's an open world action game. it's not fallout. the suits do different things, there's multiple weapons etc, but thats it. I'm not quite sure what your looking for, but what you were asking wasn't it. it's essentially GTA in the west.
also evol it's not just my opinion, it's the highest rated game on metacritic for 2010.

GTA 4 is ranked the all time highest 360 game on metacritic, and it's a piece of crap, so obviously being ranked high there doesn't make something a GOOD game. It remains... OPINION.
Ouch, shotdown!

The only aspect that remotely resembles a RPG element is your reputation meter. Perform honorable tasks and the people in the game regard you more positively. Run around like a bandit robbing banks and leaving ladies hog-tied on railroad tracks and the people will fear you and lawmen will be gunning for you.
Had to quote this from the "miscellany" section, personal ads, of the Blackwater Ledger. Bought it by the train station at McFarlane's Ranch.

Yea i have yet to play this game so i cant really judge it yet but personally ive never really cared for the Wild West setting in a game, maybe its just the fact that i cant stand old fashioned guns in ANY game ie CoD3+5, but im hopin this game gives me some actual fun with the Wild West(Since Call of Juarez was shit) but who knos. I wasnt really on the hype wagon with this game when it was announced nor leading up to the release so even if i dont like it i dont really give a f@ck seeing as i got it from gamefly lol. As far as metacritic goes, alot of the reviewers on there(and in general anywhere else) seem to be all up on Rockstars nuts no matter what the game is or the setting so ill take that rating with a grain of salt, i mean look at all the positive reviews Fable 2 got and that game was utter crap(IMO)...thats y i got suspended for a day for having "Fable 2 sucks ass" in my xbox live bio. Thanks Microsoft i really learned a lesson! O wait, no Fable 2 still blows asshole.

R* compared to other companies don't have as deep pockets as your lead to believe. if that was the case then Ubisoft, Acitvison, and EA would have the highest rated games which is not the case. Companies definuitely buy reviews, but I feel R* makes some of the best games period. GTA was great, albeit not as good as every review says it was (claiming it is the gaming jesus baby) but it is still in the top 10 released games this generation no question. we'll see where RDR lands (if) on that list.

Sampled online this morning on RDR and i have to say the MP is great, good controls, and fun BUT(and a huge BUT) its a glitch fest online right now! within 5 minutes of playing online i went invisible, had my horse go invisible, saw other people go invisible, rode on an invisible horse, had my gun disappear, then we all froze while tryin to plant a bomb on a weapon cache then the servers kicked everyone off and wouldnt let us connect at all. Once they fix it it will definately be worth investing some time into, havent played any single player yet tho.

gatling gun was legit.
I wasnt really too impressed with this game but I ended up figuring out that it just starts slow. This missions in the middle are beastin.
The weird thing is that I got attached to my horse. I had it since the beginning of the game and during a mission it got shot and died. I stared at it for 10 minutes believing it was not actually dead and it would pop and say " Ah, just kidding" but it didnt.
Oh and I am looking forward to the cannon!
But achievements seem to take a while. i have played 7 hours i think and only have 4 or 5.
Sorry to hear about your horse. I wanna see how long I can hold on to the first stallion you break helping out at the McFarlane Ranch at the beginning. One of the secret chievos is for keeping the same horse through 15 missions. Yeah, this is definitely not a game for popping a bunch of quick cheivos. I've only popped one so far with around 3-4 hours of playing time. I've always been a huge fan of the sandbox genre and this is the best I've ever played. I love taking my sweet-ass time with games like this so I don't mind the slow-paced story at the beginning.

Amen brother I always take my time with sandbox games, because thats exactly what they're made for is your imagination. In my opinion you only really enjoy these games if you lose yourself in them. I have been in the desert now shooting all the animals I can, my dude must smell like 4 hour old rabbit and armadillo meat
