So retailers are canceling Nintendo switch preorders. The fact that they have to cut the number of preorders to match their anticipated stock tells me all I need to know about the nintendo switch. Once more, Nintendo has a very clear gauge of how much interest their is in their product and once again they have decided to intentionally fuck people over by creating an insane shortage of products on release date.
I think this action had the potential to bite them in the ass when it came to the NES classic, because the fact that they are seriously disappointing is significantly more apparent as more facts come out. This might be the same for tre switch. Either way, I'm done giving them my money.
They can't have my money with these terrible business practices
Both Xbox and PS were guilty of doing that when the released the 360 and PS3. Though I do believe they learned their lessons when the current gen was released. Anyone who wanted one of their consoles was able to pick one up. Nintendo can easily afford the loss of sales Source. If you read the article you can see how they can easily afford to take the risk of manipulating the supply and demand market of its consoles.
For me the console and its concept looks really cool. But not cool enough for me to invest money into the console or its games. I am doing just fine counting down the days till Scorpio releases.

But it's not just consoles, dude. It's games, accessories, EVERYTHING. They are infinitely worse than Sony or MS, and they have been for about 5 years. The problem isn't with Nintendo, though, it's with the people who will still patronize Nintendo without demanding better business practice. I'm guilty of it, too- I love so many of their IPs. But it sucks because they don't look at their customers as people, just bags of money with dollar signs on them.

I agree with you completely but Microsoft is the same way, and I love my Xbox.

Idk, I think that's false equivalency. Microsoft didn't have a shortage of Xbox ones when they released- they learned from the 360. Preorders were available for a long time, too. They also don't EVER have a shortage on games. I can't even think of a time that a game came out for Xbox that I couldn't pick up at the store without a preorder. Microsoft doesn't sell anything like amiibos, so I can't say they're better with accessories. I had to go to 3 stores to get my kids Pokémon Sun and Moon, and before that I've had a hell of a time finding certain games. I mean- except for people who sell them for a huge markup on amazon or eBay.

I can see what you mean, on the other hand you cant have shortages on games when you went almost 100% digital and re-released 80% of the 360 hits. But yes Nintendo could deff work on their business practice.

The Dow Jones doesn't accurately measure economic health in our country it only measures the fluctuations of a select few companies, many of which aren't even of particular economic relevance anymore. No real economists care what the Dow has to say. Either way, pretty cool beans.

Just got accepted to be a contributor to RetroZap.com to write in-depth analyses on films. Mostly 70s-90s. If you've got suggestions for films, I'd love to hear them!

This election and post election garbage reminds me... I never liked any of my family growing up. I mean- outside of immediate family. Now I know why- they're so dumb.
