yay for getting paid to poop.

I got home, started the download, left it there all night, and came back home from school at 2 PM. It still wasn't done. The huge file sizes of these new games are atrocious and patience trying.

I've been gone an hour, & it looks like it downloaded the full 20 gigs, I don't see the download bar anymore, but I'm in Los Angeles, and I pay extra for fast internet. Still, this situation between this, & things like Playstation Now, will need to be addressed in the next year, or so- Time Warner Cable doesn't have caps on bandwith, but companies that do, Microsoft / Sony should broker some deal to make things easier everywhere.

Granted, I have the only thing available here in the middle of nowhere: DSL that's 1 meg if I'm lucky, but still, it makes me yell at myself when a map pack comes out or we get a free game.
-- So... Ride to Hell is everything I'd hoped it would be. This game is... pure joy. Not even being ironic. Granted, I wouldn't have paid more than $9.99 for it. But for what it is... it does it so well.

I have Verizon and I live in this terrible place known as Early and connected to a shithole called Brownwood almost smack in the center of the state. Don't come here. Ever. I can't wait to leave.

Verizon caps your internet-- they're pretty weird about it- I want to say they're the only carrier that is trying to push that agenda. I see (Early)... so they're about 2hrs south of you-- San Antonio is where they go on weekends, like an hour west. Back in (damn) Jersey, my Mom's options are like (Cox cable), and nothing else. I have Time Warner, as a wired option, or DirectTV, etc. Have done DirectTV, was fine- but for all the shit Time Warner gets (South Park episode, etc), they're fine. I pay about $150 a month, for normal cable, and a damn fast internet.
Eventually the speeds will increase. I was in high school, when dial-up modems on AOL, were the rage. Where are you trying to move to? San Antonio is a pretty good place to be. Have had lesser times in Dallas- which seems closer to you.
