I'm not sure that your opinion is skewed. You live at home and obviously don't HAVE to work- not like you have bills- but you choose to work. That's called work ethic, and it goes far in the world.
No one has ever been successful without hard work. If skating through life for 40-50 years until you have an early heart attack from a sedentary lifestyle is your cup of tea, I'm sure a job isn't necessary. But to have friends, companionship, a future- you have to be responsible for yourself.
Not to mention the fact that the way the government is going, social security payouts, welfare and other social programs will continue to be cut. They have always been intended to be subsidies, not sole income- if someone lives off it, the system is being abused.

Agreed 100%. Work isn't something people want to do but have to do. It's called being a responsible adult. It also makes your free time more valuable since you can't always do everything you want too, so it feels better to do things when you can afford it and have the time to do them like video games watch sports go out etc.
Also having to rely on someone for everything can get pretty tiring. Having the freedom to do what I want without permission or help from others is a satisfying experience. I'm a grown man I shouldn't have to rely on others to take me where I need to go. That's not to say help isn't appreciated, but it shouldn't be counted on for every problem and situation. Gotta figure out life on your own.
