Pretty neat, not sure if it's worth the $100 it costs for the system though.
Agreed. It is damn impressive though and I'm very tempted to get it but I think I'll wait till it's easier on the wallet.
It's been $99 since launch so there's probably a price cut coming. Hell, it was totally random at Target today that I got it for $79. Last Christmas the official Ouya site had a $59 special, but that's since past. I've hooked it all up & will try it soon. My purchase was also tempered by the fact that I have literally a dozen external 500gig / 1TB drives that clients never bothered to get back-- so I just reformated a 1TB drive to FAT32 (compatible), 1TB will get me pretty much every video game (and MAME arcade game) ever made, up to Playstation 2 era. FAT32 won't allow file sizes larger than 4 gigs, but Ouya's not powerful enough to emulate PS2 (dvd disc 4.76gigs) anyway.
But Dreamcast GD-ROMS were around 1.3 gigs, and PS1 games are around 800 megs. I can also use it as a no-nonsense web browser on my TV... I don't want to risk a main console getting a virus or trojan horse off the internet. The thing is literally resting a 1/4 size above my Xbox 360, it's damn tiny, fits snug between the corner, and where the fans start, on the slim. I threw up most of my ROMs off my PSP, will try it soon. Nintendo DS, and actual PSP emulation, is in beta, from what I hear. N64 runs perfectly. You can also plug your 360 or PS3 controller into it... although I'm using the USB port for my external drive. The controller feels solid enough.
