Looking at getting my first car pretty soon. My friend's got a 2001 Cadillac that he's gonna give to me for $1100. I don't know shit about cars, so what do you guys think about that offer? Any input would be helpful. Let me know if further information is needed, I'm currently asking him how many miles it has on it.

Thinking about getting a Vita with income tax. Anyone have any suggestions for what games to get? RPG games are a must. A lot of people tell me that Persona is good, so I'll probably get that.

If you've never played Persona 4, Absolutely get the Vita version Persona 4 Golden, loads of extras on top of an incredible game, grab Persona 3 Portable for PSP while you're at it

The vita is not backward compatible and it's only good RPG is already on PS2. If you want good RPG's the 3DS (Or regular PSP) is the way to go.

The Vita is backwards compatible, obviously just not through UMDs

I thought backwards compatibility specifically referred to being able to use the same software. Downloads are a bit different. You can download the original Mario Brothers on the Wii-U but I wouldn't say it's backwards compatible with the NES.

That Northstar (the motor) is pretty problematic, I've been involved in fixing a few and it is a pain in the ass. Also being a Cadillac parts are expensive, the car may seem like a deal now but it will end up costing you quite a bit at some point.

I guess it pays to be an asshole sometimes lmao. I went to pay my ever climbing cable bill today and decided that I was going to complain about their service. I told them it was shitty and that I was going to cancel it because I didn't like how crappy their internet was and that I was sick of paying more and more every month for something that doesn't work.
Long story short I walked out with free HBO, Showtime, Starz, 50mbps internet, 1 free digital box, and $50 knocked off my monthly bill. Any other day and I'm sure they would have called me out on my bluff.

It is the same software, you can download P3P, or any digital PSP game for that matter, on vita play a bit, switch to PSP for whatever reason and the same save would still work and vice versa.
Wii-U playing NES Games is done via software emulation meaning there was a special program written to support the Game (Virtual Console) or simply ported over whereas PSP games are fully supported on the Vita via Hardware Emulation.
It's the same thing with PS2 playing ps1 games except it's all done digitally.
In the end, P3P works on Vita, get it.

Yeah it depends on how long you want the car for and how well you can fix cars yourself. Plus make, model, miles, etc... Cadillacs as a rule are pretty reliable, I think, but old cars are old and are all going to have random crap dying (sensors going out, starters/solenoid dying, engine trouble, and so on).
If you're just looking for a throwaway to last a year or so, assuming the car is in good shape it's not a bad deal. But it depends on how well the person who you're getting it from takes care of it too.
I bought a new car last year with our taxes- new to me, anyway. In that year we've had to replace wheel studs (when I got it one tire was on crooked and they broke trying to get the lug nuts off), the winch for the spare tire, the starter, the radiator and radiator cap, the battery, a tire, and some other stuff. Luckily my husband did all that himself, so it's only cost us a couple of hundred dollars. He kept my last car alive wayyyy longer than it was expected to live as well haha. I got a good deal on it-- and I don't regret it, but I would have been screwed the first time the wheels were shaking (like- the first time I drove the car) and I didn't know what to do if it was just me because I know nothing about cars.
You generally get what you pay for!

You can take your chances and fill in the blanks on this letter that Xbox created to help those that are in the same situation as you are. It's a bit sexist, so good luck.

Hey thanks for the input Melissa! I've heard some horror stories about sinking money into cars that just don't pay off in the endgame. The car belonged to my friends mom before she gave it to him. As far as I know they've taken pretty nice care of it, but my understanding of cars is pretty minimal. I'll be sure to take all of your advice into account when the time comes to buy
