'Play as Taliban' angle controversial in 'Medal of Honor'

"Some say it's disrespectful to allow players to play as a real-life enemy"
As I was starting up my browser, this page caught my attention. Click Here
I thought this was the most craziest thing i have seen in my entire life, well in video articles. Theres been many other games that have allowed you to play on both sides of the war. But why bring it up now?
If i am missing something or not understanding this please let me know

Why does it even matter? No one is the enemy. In war each side views the other side as the enemy...

This goes beyond good and evil. It's pure
political correctness.

Its not hard to see why this game is so controversial. Time heals wounds. But we are still at war and the Taliban hasn't been brought to the justice that they deserve. A mother who lost here son at the hands of car bombers might be offended by a game like this. War is distant, so as non military civilians, we don't understand the effects of war. So of course MW2 is fun to play. But to better understand why people dislike this sorta thing is to bring it to real world perspective. What if you played a drunk driving sim? Or maybe a grandfather died of a heart attack sim? Or rape my 10 year old daughter sim? I'm agree with most of you, its just a game. its not real. Its fiction. I will be buying this game. I will enjoy it. But to not understand why these games are controversial. Thats just sad. If the taliban killed someone close to you, a multiplayer game like this would deeply disturb you. Its common sense.
I wouldn't be disturbed because this is a video game and not real.

So just because its a video game, its stupid to call it offensive?
... YOU'RE STUPID!
This is no worse than the airport level in MW2.

well....I agree with you, whole heartedly 100%. In my own opinion I think it's ridiculous to be offended by a game such as this. But, I understand that point you are making Dirty and I think it is pretty stupid to say people are stupid to find this offensive.
If someone close to them has lost someone by the hands of the taliban, or anyone involved in the war that is going on, and doesn't find this offensive, cool...But if they have lost someone and finds it offensive, I can understand that
