I for one am ready to be done with the discs. I used to have a huge DvD collection, well over 5000 titles, and I've cut that down to around a 100. Thank god for netflix and other digital sites. My living room looks sooo much neater with out all that clutter.
I already stream TV shows from my computer to my smart TV and canceled my expensive cable bill. I now just pay 45.00 a month for Basic cable and my internet compared to 180.00.
The next step is to get ride of all these stupid game cases. Please Microsoft give me a system that acts like a DVR for TV/Movies, can record my game play and upload to Youtube or where ever, and let me download the new game releases on day one. I already bye from games on demand and Live Arcade. I really don't see what the fuss is all about.
Get with the times people, your starting to sound like our parents back in the Day!!!

Please stop spreading rumours. Until Microsoft says something, that's all this is, stuff and nonsense...

I don't see any harm in discussing any speculation about the next generation console. This site isn't exactly a huge media outlet.
If you don't want to participate in the discussion, that is your prerogative, but everyone else is free to speculate if they choose.

I don't even believe there is another Xbox in the works until Microsoft says something...
Do you really believe that? Or are you trolling?
How is that trolling? If anything, I'd attribute the asshat that reported 'somebody' saying "New Xbox to have DVR and no used games" is the one trolling. Look at the ridiculous number of panicky people reposting that same insubstantial rumour and tell me that person wasn't trolling...

Asshat is a little strong no? It’s a discussion forum right? I thought this would be something that people would discuss, right or wrong. I do think eventually one(or more) of the big game companies will attack the Gamestops of the world to either get royalties from their used games or to try to stop them completely. Sorry if you consider that trolling I can’t help it if your head is hollow. If you’d like to continue to insult me send me a message on Xbox Live. Don’t be an internet hardass.
BTW I am laughing, at how incredibly brave you are behind a keyboard.
@ Mudkip, Sorry I guess my limited knowledge on current PC gaming is making look a bit noobish.

I just dont like this! Im down with ditching expensive cable packages and using things like Netflix, MLB TV, ESPN app, and NFL Ticket (on PS3) to fulfill my entertainments needs. When I move away this is exactly what im going to do.
But when it comes to games I just have to have them bad boys on my shelf! It makes me feel like I actually own it. When I download a game from XBLA I feel like those things could just disappear!

I understand your point about having it in your hands and you know you own it. I felt much the same way for a long time. But now with today's new Technology and back ups like the Cloud, I just don't worry about it anymore. One thing I wouldn't like is not being able play downloaded games if I was offline. To me if I download anything that I paid for, it's mine and I own it. Can you imagine the uproar and bad press if peoples games and data just disappeared.
I guess I feel more this way because I buy almost all my games new. I keep my games and don't trade or sell them. But just because I pay the extra 5 bucks (gamestop) for the new copy, doesn't mean I want to pay full original retailer price. Older games prices should be dropped over time to reflect that. Oh and don't feel to sorry for gamestop, they been screwing us and the game company's for years. That's a whole different topic though.
I'm not sure what's going to happen. I don't think It'll be to extreme. I'm pretty sure Microsoft took notice of the Netflix revolt and will want to avoid that type of Bad PR. As long as I get my games In some form I'll be a happy camper. Speaking of camping I still need to get BF3...peace out!!!

The "asshat" I was referring to is the person(s) that originally reported the rumour, not the person that started this thread. Sorry for the confusion.

I was just wondering how different it was than “Microsoft to do away with MS points”?
@ TK I couldn’t imagine a world w/o gamestop, I couldn’t imagine paying full price for Conan, any Lego game and a host of others that just don’t warrant their $60 price tag!

I'm a little more willing to believe that Microsoft would do away with MS points since they already use real money for Games On Demand. The only question I have is, if they were to do away with MSP, would you still be able to buy $20 cards in stores and redeem them or would they expect you to make transactions only from the credit card associated with your XBL account?
(Again, this could just be a rumour- but like I said, this one sounds more believable than some hypothetical system that won't let you play games unless you forked over $60 for it...)
