Heath killjoy hooked me up with his VUDU so I finally was able to see Deadpool 2 (super duper cut, no less) and it was spectacular. Some of the cg action was a little eh but it's a minor nitpick in an otherwise hilarious, fast and juicy sequel. Everyone was great -- Domino and Cable stand out, but the entire X-Force was awesome.

Just finished SOLO. Gotta say, it was way better than I expected. I still feel like the main dude doesn't look like Han, but he plays him really well. The rest of the cast was all good, especially Chewbacca, and having Donald Glover as Lando was great casting cause he looks and sounds like a young Billy Dee Williams. I am a little sick of seeing Woody Harrellson in everything but that's a personal issue; he doesn't detract from the story or action.
The movie was a great Star Wars flick because the things they HAD to feature (meeting Chewie, Kessel Run, getting the Falcon) were all handled well, and there were a ton of other little callouts to all corners of the SW universe. My favourite one was Qi'ra acknowledging the existence of Teras Kasi, the kung fu of the SW universe and also one of the worst PS1 games evar

Solo was aight in my opinion. Lando felt so phoned in to me I don’t know why and I so agree that Woody should go back to hi roundup and stay there. He’s literally the same character in every movie it’s annoying.

I saw Venom, it was just ok. The cg on the character was good enough, but I don't like that Hardy guy as Eddie Brock, and on the whole the movie was unexciting. Making it outside of the MCU with no Spiderman was the dumbest mistake I can imagine next to having Topher Grace. Another strike against it is that it ALSO HAD WOODY FREAKING HARRELSON. I used to like him as an actor but I am sick of seeing him in so many movies. Michelle Williams plays Anne Weying (who is important if you're familiar with the comics) and she did a great job, better than anyone else in this.
Anyway, it wasn't "so bad it's good", it was just kind of bad because it was so mediocre. I am a big fan of the character itself but wouldn't recommend this to anyone. There is a post-credits scene showing a nice chunk of the upcoming "Into the Spiderverse", so if you see Venom then stay for that.

I hope her "alter character" shows up again in the inevitable sequel.

Ok, while not a movie, I am having a great time watching Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime.

Mama Mia Here We Go Again was a fun musical and a good sequel to the first. It's about the original mom when she was younger, as well as further in the life of her daughter (Amanda Seyfried, my internet girlfriend). Everyone from the original shows up, and it was a hoot seeing Cher as the old grandma.
A surprisingly enjoyable movie despite the complete lack of naked women, explosions, horrific violence or Ryan Reynolds.

Watched Halloween (2018). Disclaimer -- I've only ever seen parts of H20 and the first Rob Zombie reboot, none of the original(s).
So, with that being said... this shit was boring and tepid for a horror movie. Early on, a background character said exactly what I was thinking: "so this guy killed 5 people back in the 70's? how is that a big deal these days?"
It did seem well made, and the soundtrack was good (not just the notorious theme) and I think fans of the original movie will like this. Me? I don't see the appeal.
I also want to say that the younger "teenage" characters were pretty good and not as annoying or schlocky as slasher film kiddos tend to be.

Go watch Halloween ('78) and forget the rest. If you are not a fan of the original, you won't be able to stand the sequels (because they suck). And the newer ones, including Rob Zombie's are even worse.
I personally love Halloween and like most of its sequels (yes, even Season of the Witch). I have not had the chance to watch the new one yet, but my friends that also love the original tell me it is excellent.
I don't see newer generations finding slashers like Halloween shocking as we did. Different times. Watching the news is actually scarier than anything else nowadays.

Bohemian Rhapsody - 4/5 - Good movie overall. A lot of emphasis on Freddie's private life

I am looking forward to seeing Bohemian Rhapsody!
Incredibles 2 - Finally saw this and it was good! I like that they had more Frozone. The stuff with the baby was less annoying than expected. Elasti-girl is thicc.
22 Jump Street - Finally saw this as well and it was hilarious, possibly better than the first. The 4th wall humour was spot-on. If I ever make a movie I'm putting Ice Cube in it for no reason.
Batman: Bad Blood - I love how Batwoman is ex-special forces and gives 0 fucks. Actual story was odd but it was neat seeing the interplay between characters.
Batman & Harley Quinn - This was incredibly odd. Art & animation style right out of the 90's animated series, and an odd (and somewhat scatological) sense of humor seem out of place for bats but at least it was entertaining.

The Crimes of Grindelwald - This was really good if you are a fan of Harry Potter. It's also a lead-in to other upcoming movies, the end being a bit of a cliffhanger and all that. So, in short, looks like Ms. Rowling has another winning series on her hands.

Yo, Into the Spider-Verse is absolutely fantastic. One of my new favorite superhero movies without a doubt

So I watched Venom on OnDemand last night and I must say that Meta's review is pretty spot on. Now I cant believe that I am agreeing with Meta but I would definitely put this in the mediocre category. The first 45 minutes of build up had little to no excitement. Woody Harrleson's role was not big enough for me to comment. Was sad to see the Stan Lee cameo as I know this is one of his final appearances. All in all wait for TV.

If you thought that cameo was sad, go watch Into the Spider-Verse. Also, watch it anyway becasue its the best spider-man movie of them all I think I've decided
