Some Deem a midnight release as a gamers "Rite of Passage" so to speak.
How do you View it?
Have you Attended one?
How Many Have you Attended? What Games?
Frankly I've attended a few, and I hardly see it as a rite of passage. Its mostly a bunch of unwashed, non-deodorant wearing dudes waiting in line to get a game that they took the next day off work to play (assuming they are employed). I'm in the minority for those who actually don't smell like a men's locker room.
It might have to do with which games I have done the Midnight Release: ODST, Reach, & FF XIII are the few that come to mind. Maybe it has to do with the Gamestop that I go to get these games, I don't know. But frankly unless I REALLY want the game, its not worth it to me to deal with some of the people in line (this includes the asinine conversations AND the smell - which is bad when you consider that we are OUTSIDE). I had a better time freezing to death waiting outside the Old Navy a few years back to get the free copy of Lego Rock Band.
The only good thing about them is that I realized there are bigger nerds out there than me!!
