If I play Gears 2 after playing ME2 (or 3), it feels like Gears 2 has the brakes on. Handling in ME2 + 3 is better than Gears 2. But the 'chest high walls' cover movement is still funky.

There is a huge difference in quality and fluidity. Mass Effect feels like a training wheels version of Gears of War 1. Ive beaten all 3 Mass Effect games and all 3 Gears. Not to mention logging over 1000 matches. One game is built around RPG elements and one game is completely combat oriented.

I love both series equally but theres no getting around the limitations of ME. Took two games to even be able to dodge or melee. It's all personal taste though...and we are in the ME thread so theres no winning this

I love the fluidity that they evolved into from ME1, but I still hate the melee system in 3. I don't like that when you do the heavy melee it doesn't automatically hit someone right there, if they move a hair to the left you usually miss and continue to get tore into with bullets, especially in multiplayer.

You should be able to melee enemies on the ground better too. Or at the very least do a execution.
