This year, so far, I have seen more movies in the theater than I have in the past 4 years combined... Yes, I love the trailer for The Hobbit that much! But now there's a way for me to get my Middle-earth fix without having to leave the house now that a teaser trailer has been dropped to announce Lego Lord of the Rings:
Rumors have been circulating for a long time about it, but it's finally official- Warner Bros. and TT games are bringing Lord of the Rings to consoles in a playable, breakable, collectible extravaganza for every conceivable console. Lego will be also releasing a special Lord of the Rings toy line, with 7 construction sets (all of which I will be the proud owner of).
This trailer looks fantastic, and I'm excited for this in a way I've never been excited for a Lego game before. There will only be one game released, which will cover all 3 movies in the trilogy, and Warner Bros reports that all of the characters from the film will be present, as players battle through every scene from the movies.
No specifics on a release date yet, but look for it to hit stores in Fall of this year... around the same time Warner Bros will be cashing in on Hobbit fever on XBLA, with the online battle arena game Guardians of Middle-earth!

IF they tone down the collectibles a little bit, this will probably be the first Lego game I play and enjoy since pretty much the original Lego Star Wars.
I have seen photos of the actual toys, too and little Lego Gimli is so freakin' awesome.
