Ok mister wierdo...LOL......XP is a piece of crap and Vista is even worse, Windows 7 is much more of an upgrade from those than ever...I have no idea what stuff your doin', but I bet it's Grandma's special brownies!!!
For one it dosen't take away 1gb of RAM like Vista and 7
7 "WAS" Intended to make things easier...but for people that are advanced with computers and want to edit something like registry or WINDOWS Files Would not be allowed without some sort of hack (in my case at least)
all windows 7 is, is a little Visual Touchup with some UTTERLY USELESS Help crap things...For Example When I put a Window to the side it Maximizes WTF!?!?
XP IMO Is and always will be the Best OS

Hey, I don't major in IT for nothing!!! Personally, I would rather scrap XP and Vista over Windows 7. The majority of people in my profession would agree with me, but other people, like in HR wouldn't, that's why my internship decided not to upgrade all the PC's to Windows 7!!! (Soon to be full time job, keeping my fingers crossed, so keep your fingers crossed too!!!)If you don't know how to work 7, then you are teh n00bsz at computers(Generalization).
uncalled for
it was an opinion lol
ahh i feel like i insulted you and i aplogize, when I said more advanced i ment...like a hacker

It seems to be a little under powered for the price. Dell is having it's president's day sale, with the same kind of specs on their laptops for cheaper.

On their website or Amazon? And could you suggest one that would be good for a fairly good price, just using it for school work basically, internet and word processing and such, have a home computer for music and all that stuff.

Lowest you can spend on a new laptop is gonna be around $400.

Hm I might apply for the Dell preferred account later when I get home and if I get accepted, which I probably will, might upgrade it the 6GB memory and buy it before the deal ends

I actually ended up creating my own custom laptop on HP and got way better specs and it's nicer and I trust it more than Dell for like 100 bucks cheaper ordered it this morning, says it'll be ready and shipped to me by the 1st at the latest, I custom built my home desktop from HP too and have had 0 problems with it in 3 years so I figured it was a worthy investment.
