good choice. FFX is a great place to start if you don't mind the regression of graphics as you go to the older RPGs, but that should be a given since you ARE getting a PS2 after all xD

Graphics dont make the game, the gameplay does! :) Tomb raider 2 on ps1 is one of the greatest games ever!

You're going to enjoy FFX a lot I think. It has great visuals for its time and on top of that, the gameplay has a few modern refinements so it won't be as hard to really get in to it like it might be if you went back to NES version of FF1 or Dragon Warrior.

for PS2 JRPGs, just go by instinct or look at the back of the box (when possible). they're cheap enough to take chances on and the majority of them are good and you'll most likely find something you like in every one of them xD

today I picked up a PS2. here are the games I got! :)
Final Fantasy X = $16
Final Fantasy X-2= $10 (Gamestop was sold out, but i found a MINT one at playntrade.)
Final Fantasy XII=$12
Devil May Cry=$6
Devil May Cry 2=$7
Devil May Cry 3= $8
Grand Theft Auto III=$5
Grand theft Auto: Vice City= FREE ( It was Buy 1 get 2 free on $4.99 or less ps2 games!)
Crazy Taxi=FREE! (same reason.)
and the guy was sooo happy a got the ps2 and some games off of his floor, he gave me a free MONSTER energy drink!
I got the system for $47!
I think this is a great deal! What do you think? And what are some other series I need to get into?
