I notice a slight difference, the one thing I don't like is my tv being in normal mode, is there a way to enable widescreen? Like getting a particular cord?

There should be an aspect button on your remote, dunno why it's doing that though, you sure you flipped the switch on your AV cables in the back of your xbox?

My cable is set to HDTV, my screen is set to Wide, but the Xbox defaulted to Normal when I switched it from 480. It says if I want to change it I need some cable, which I thought I had....

I believe there's also a setting in the Xbox to change it to widescreen... If I'm not mistaking, if the TV doesn't like the widescreen setting from the 360, it won't go at all
I had to do that when I got my 61 inch TV after playing on a standard TV for about a year.
I used to have a release console, with component cables and after moving the switch to HD and playing with the settings on the 360 itself, I was playing in 1080i
Edit: 2 hours later... Does your 360 have an HDMI port? It'd be underneath the component cable input if you have one. I'd suggest using that instead of component cables.
www.monoprice.com is the best place to get cables online for dirt cheap and has great quality still. I order all my cables that I need from there and have never had any problems with any cables, including my HDMI cables too
Using an HDMI cable would be the best way to get the best picture out of your 360, cause it'll pick the best resolution for you.

Leo casts Resurrection
Alright, I had completely forgotten I was supposed to get an HDMI cable, but Ive now realized I know diddly squat. Hope someone who's an HD savant can help.
I'm looking at these 2, whether they'd work with a 360 is beyond me, I assume they do.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002L5R78/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1296181821&sr=8-1 (apparently has a flickering issue?)
Also open to suggestions, preferably under $20-$25.
Thanks for helping an HD noob.
