Re: Halo: The Master Chief Collection

I finally had some time to play this game. I tried to put some time in it, but this dude insisted that I play Destiny and knock out a normal raid.
My buddy and I tried joining matchmaking on multiple occasions but would either get kicked back to the main menu or lose connection to the host. Damn shame too, I was really looking forward to moistening up my ball sack by dropping some T-Bags. Hopefully they have the server issues corrected very soon.
We did some Halo CE and it was impressive to see the details that they put into it. Everything looked crisp and my favorite feature was that when you get a NPC to operate your machine gun turret, they would actually be helpful and hit their targets. As many can recall, the previous versions of the game you were better off trying to splatter the enemy than relying on the NPC to do his/her job. I noticed a huge issue while playing this game and not sure if anyone has encountered it yet, but when not hosting and coming in as the secondary player, I was noticing some huge delays in my movement and when I fired my weapon. For example, I would be rocking off some rounds in my plasma rifle and would let go of the trigger, while on screen it would continue to fire for a second longer. Same thing with movement, I'd let go of the thumbstick and he would still be moving.
I got tired of the delays and we fired up H2. It was jaw dropping. The cut scenes were absolutely gorgeous. The gameplay was smooth and easy to pick up and play. The sound effects were amped up along with the graphics. I had a great time playing the first few levels and I remember why I fell in love with this series.
I can't wait to see how the other titles improved in this masterpiece.

So it turns out that so far i'm finding a ton of the multiplayer achievements can be unlocked in custom games. This is vastly different than any previous Halo title as far as I can remember, where most of the online achievements required you to play matchmaking. Especially in Halo 3 where they almost all required you to play in Lone Wolf so you couldn't boost

I still did it
I believe there was an exploit in Reach that allowed you to unlock achieves in custom games after playing a game in MP? I vaguely remember boosting that with Shadow.

Yup. It was the DLC map packs we did it in.

cool i'll be down to get a boosting session together sometime soon if anyone is down.
edit: flipping back and forth in the campaign of the graphics then versus now is absolutely crazy, and it's also worth an achievement if you do it in every Halo: CE level!

You would probably just need to start each level and save and quit out of each one of them.
I wish they would hurry and fix their server issues. Tried playing some H3 coop and it was very painful.

As soon as you left Trigger and I were running smooth as butter.

I was reading the forums and read about all the issues with that. Most cases exiting the level and restarting clears it up. On a recent survey that I just created, 99% believe of people believe that you are just too poor and your internet couldn't handle it. The other 1% believe that it is a DickInSon thing.
