Game You Played For Gamerscore And Ended Up Liking

I know a lot of us on this site play a lot of games just to boost our gamerscore, myself included. I mean I played NCIS and My Horse and Me 2 within the past week just to boost my score.

I have played a ton of crappy games (see above) but there have also been some games that I have played just to boost my gamerscore that I actually ended up liking. I'm sure some of you have had this happen too. One of the games that I ended up liking was Viking: Battle For Asgard. I know a lot of people have beat this game up and think that it sucks. I really liked it though. I liked the stealth aspect of it, the hack and slash fighting, the fact you could call on a dragon to help you and especially the huge battles. I just really enjoyed this game and I thought it was just going to be another bad game to help me boost my gamerscore.

So, what about you? Do you have a game that you thought was just going to help you boost your gamerscore but you ended up enjoying?

Civilization revolution.I got the game because its a easy 1000 and i ended up really enjoying the game which led me to buy the Jp version of it. i still play the game now if i want to waste three or four hours

For me, it was Fallout 3 PC version. I had already played and finished the console version so I figured I would just run through the PC version for GS. Then I heard something about 'mods' and I started adding a bunch of them - which totally changed the game - so I ended up playing that game far beyond the 1550 GS.

I recently just finished Megamind. It was actually kinda fun. Really simple, and relaxing.

This was one I liked too. Even though it wasn't actual gameplay, I really liked the ending when Captain America was running from the explosion and he was backtracking through the places you played through during the game.

Viking, aside from the Skullbagger achievements and the very end, was definitely one. Bully was good and I love football games, so those too. A lot of WP7 games end up like that for me as well.

I agree with Captain America also and I'll add Terminator Salvation. Not because it was a great game, but it had co-op in which both players got the achievements (which seems to be outside of most game developer's capabilities for some reason. *ahem* Sacred 2 *ahem*) and all of the achievements were simply beating the chapters. Not searching for crap, no going out of your way. Beat the game... 1000 points.

Lol. I actually like the CSI games (and NCIS as well). I also really liked Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper. I like the whole "solve a crime" type game. Even if the controls aren't the greatest, I enjoy the whodunit of the whole issue and trying to figure it out myself.

I think there have been a few others that I ended up enjoying, but mostly based on the low expectations going in to playing them. I remember I liked Alpha Protocol even with the 3 playthroughs (though by the 4th I was done - but mainly because I screwed up a 5 point achievement and needed to do a 4th playthrough). I also really liked Project Sylpheed, decent story and fun for the first 5 or so playthroughs. Too bad around 13 or so are needed for all the achievements :mad:

Note to developers: people will enjoy your mediocre (or bad) game more if they don't have to play it a million times, or spend hours looking for random pieces of crap.
