That's not true, are you going to tell me the GTA/Fallout/borderlands dlc should be free? Because there essentially expansion packs in content and in terms of quality. I agree there's definitely some DLC that should be free, but I fully support companies that produce good quality DLC.

What, in your opinion, is the difference between Fallout 3 having those DLC missions, and Starcraft having a Brood War expansion you had to go buy from a store?
I mean, besides the huge cost of producing the extra boxes, manuals, getting retail shelf space...
The first 20 years were kind of DLC free. You could use your credit card and buy codes from devs and log into BBS and download Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny or Doom episodes...

Yeah, no argument there. I do feel like some DLC is done "the right way" but there's no question that a lot of it is milking the cash cow and/or screwing with the fan base.
Assassin's Creed 2 was really annoying with this, the way the disc game had 2 missions missing they just couldn't get in, and then they are released as DLC later. Yeah I've read all the excuses, plus they weren't super expensive and didn't add Achievements, but no matter what I think developers need to take responsibility for stuff like that.
There is no reason a AAA-producing studio should be so pressured by the stockholders that they "have" to release an incomplete game and then sell you pieces later. I mean this isn't some indie dev house, it's Ubisoft. They could tell the check writers to sit on their thumbs for a couple months and everything would be copacetic once the game released.

I was hoping for the mask to the outfits from registering the game. But the out fits look good.

i'll say one thing though. i think achievements have ruined many peoples' gaming experiences. i noticed around this forum that people would refuse to buy DLC just because it doesn't have extra achievements. it's not all about achievements, sometimes DLC is meant for adding extra gameplay elements or expanding the story, and if the price reflects the amount of content, then i'd gladly buy it if i'm interested.

i find some games to be worth 70-100 bones, but certainly not borderlands.
fallout 3, on the other hand, was worth every penny.

am i the only person on this forum that thinks Borderlands was worth every penny with the DLCs? xD i love that game, and i usually hate sandbox games
