Question - I have killed over 30 dragons. On 2 different occasions I didn't absorb the soul - as a matter of fact, the dragons are both still laying where I left them. Has this happened to anyone else??

Well, I'm all decked out in Legendary Dragon armor. Got my smithing from 24 to 100 today in about an hour . All the armor is mine! With all my extra shit from dragons I made a few other sets of armor and you can sell them for like 5,000 a set! Currently sitting at level 36 about to level up and I have my sneak, destruction, smithing, speech and one handed at 100! Haven't even talked to the Greybeards yet, lol.

Been playing this game a lot lately and am constantly getting lost and sidetracked. As an example I was spposed to go to whiterun and ended up at the mage school. Dunno how that happened. I had leveled up my one handed to 60 something and now its red and says 20. What can I do? Any other tips someone can give me to make my experience better in this game? Feel free to pm me if you wanna help me out lol.

Ha, -2 for the idiot who's afflicted! Just find a priest to heal you or an alter to pray at and it will cure you. Shrines work too and they also give you a blessing that's active for some hours.
Also, here's a guide to leveling I put together. I bolded the skills in case you don't feel like reading something you've already leveled.
For Sneak, Destruction and One-Handed, get an iron dagger and 1000 gold, then buy a horse from the stables at Whiterun. Take the horse around the edge of the town and find a a spot where you can place the horse into a corner. Go into sneak mode and stand near the horse's tail and use your dagger and slash the horse until it's about to die. I would get about 5 hits in before the horse had almost no life yet. Then simply wait an hour and the horse will be healed. If you accidentally kill your horse, fear not, you've been saving every time to regen your horse's health. You can get your sneak to 100 in about a half hour and your one handed to 50 or so. You can do this with destruction as well.
For Smithing, you'll need about 6,500 gold to get to 100. Go to Whiterun's main gate, there will be a woman there near the entrance usually hammering away on something, she's hard to miss. Buy all her iron ingots and leather strips, wait 48 hours and buy both those items again. Keep doing that until you have about 400 iron ingots and 400 leather strips. Use the forge there and craft daggers, when you're all out of supplies you could enchant about 20 if you have the enchantment and filled soul gems and make all your money back, you cold make a lot more than you put in if you enchant a lot of them, thus raising your Enchanting, as well. This takes about an hour and a half. Yay, now make your dragon armor!
For Speech, you need to travel to Riften and talk to a Dark Elf named Ungrien and choose the "Tell Me about Maven Black-Briar" dialogue. You should get a persuade option (level 25 and up) and if you pass it, the option won't disappear and you can keep choosing it, allowing for infinite speech. You might have to pay him until you're level 25 for you to persuade him for free. This takes about a half hour of listening to him start the same sentence over and over. My suggestion is to put some music on and mute the game's sound.
For Blocking and Heavy Armor AFTER you've leveled and done the previous stat boosting, find a lone giant, or kill one if you can't find one by himself. Let the giant hit you with his mallet, every hit will level up your armor or block. If you don't block, you'll level up armor. If you block, you'll obviously level up block. Then when you're near death flee to higher grounds. Walking up the side of a mountain usually works best since the giants can rarely follow you. Making frequent manual saves (not waiting) will work to your advantage in case you die. Having an assortment of health potions is recommended in case you simply cannot escape. You can level up Light Armor in the same manner, but I wouldn't suggest using a giant. The skeletons in the Crypt under Whiterun work well and should barely harm you, just equip your restoration spell and use it when your health is low.
For Lock-Picking, the blacksmith's house at Riften will always have an adept lock to pick to get in at night. You will need to fast travel away from the city to get the lock to respawn, but it will always be there. Picking it 2-3 times will almost always level this skill up. If you have a lot of lockpicks, breaking them will also level up your skill a small amount. If you don't have many lockpicks, you can save (either wait or manual save) and keep reloading until you pick the lock successfully.
After you do all these or get tired of them, you'll most likely be very close to level 50.

AJ, great tips, got the game today, and I'm ready to start boosting these levels.
About what general level can you start nailing these as far as being able to reach such destinations? I literally just started.

theres another way to lvl up your sneak
go to High Hrothar there will be guys meditating they are always no responsive so sneak backhim and keep hitting them with a 1 handed..make sure you are always and sneak and if they get up (which they do once in a while) stop hitting them til they sit down again
